Stop sending them movies...they can't charge a tax on nothing.

Don't do business with known crooks and you won't get jacked.

Tax, its charged everywhere so don't get too up tight, everyone needs to pay up no matter where you are.

Strangely enough, I've halted my own payments to Hollywood a time or two.

They have a lot of pirated movies store. Probably it will not be a big difference for them.
DudeDeuce
Exactly, dare Hollywood to tax the guy who walks around with the big suitcase full of books and books of bootleg dvds.

Sounds like another Chinese scam to me.

article states: "is negotiating with Chinese authorities, to resolve the tax dispute."
Some people draw conclusion that China will not pay. They are only halting payment due to a dispute and they are trying to resolve the differences. Happens all the time everywhere.

"China stopped payment at the beginning of the year, when American studios took issue with a two percent value-added tax that the world’s most populous nation was levying on U.S. films."
Classic PRC tactics, if you complain they refuse to pay and what can the studios do?
Hey, here's an idia, how about stop allowing the PRC to change the scripts of movies?

How about the world have the balls to stand up to this bully nation and isolate it then watch it turn inwards on itself.

The only reason we don't is because we don't want them starting WWIII.

Pay up, you deadbeats!

Hollywood should threaten to make a "balanced" movie about the Senkakus.

Sad to see yet another example of China's bully, this clearly shows more proof that China is not ready to be on the world stage and an equal partner with most other world nations, including the US, Japan, the UK, France, Italy, Germany, India, and many more. It is clear that China considers it a national perogative to dictate whatever terms it wants to the rest of the world and then expects open borders and free license to do as it wishes in return. Sorry, not going to happen.

I hope China one day gets its head out of its rear end.
