Personally, you deserved the slap, yep, he shouldn’t have done it, but you deserved it. It’s their relationship and if she had an affair it’s no one’s business but theirs. And as for taking the Micheal out of his wife in front of hundreds of millions of viewers. He was in the position of having to accept another man, slagging his wife off, all in the name of comedy or standing up for her. He was either going to loose because he had to accept the put downs, or stand up for her, and get the blow back on that. I think any husband would do the same if a guy in the bar, started to pick on or humiliate his wife. He may have been wrong in what he did, but I support his courage for doing it, apologizing, and taking it on the chin. No pun intended!

Keep hitting him, Chris…, do not slow down…; Will’s behavior and language on national tv (with millions of kids watching…) was disgusting (he’s (emotionally) unstable and stupid…)…; some brilliant jokes, Chris, heheh.

I would be much easier to side with Will Smith if he showed remorse about the whole thing, for example by giving back his price as a way to accept he acted in a way that could not be accepted. But since he choose to present himself as one of the victims of the affair I can't help but think Chris Rock is the one that acted more professionally about it.

Well, his loud mouth got him the slap. No one to blame but himself. Will's personal life is messed up, so let it be. Why still want to talk about it now? Revenge? Sounds like a big loser to me.

entitled fool. I be more upset if the joke was about my dog because my dog can’t defend against a joke.but she was stupid could should made an effort to play down the joke but sat there laughing at the joke before smith got up and hit the smaller man.

Will Smith was wrong! He should have been banned from the Oscars for life and charged by the police. His violence on national TV in front of families and kids was shocking.
Maybe he should consider a job with American law enforcement!

Very well played by Rock.
Poor Will.

Hit him again but harder.
the only mistake Mr Smith made was to apologize

Normally I would just joke about it and say it's the smiths' fault for making their lives a treasure trove of material for refined people's entertainment but rock targeted something for which they have no control over, the wife's balding disease.
Oh well life's a comedy.

Rock has his weapon of choice and he’s going to verbally tear Smith limb from limb.
No less than he deserves.

Everything's over blown. It's all just content.

Chris Rock making comments on a woman's hair and or lack of on national television is rude and crude and he should have been blacklisted for that especially when it is well known this was a medical condition.
With that said, Will using physical violence on national television is no better. Will and Jada should have just filed a formal complaint with the Oscars and used a campaign against Rock after the awards and that would have hurt him more than that slap by hitting him in his pocketbook.

Don't smile in the face of adversity. If anyone would dare make a similarity tasteless, bullying joke about my wife, the outcome would be similar. Deal with the consequences later!
Many people say "it's just a joke" - no, this is actually bullying... And bullies deserve their teeth knocked out of their idiotic heads. Otherwise they continue to bully you for the rest of their miserable lives.
Will Smith is probably better off not joining the slugfest for a decade anyway.

Was it known to him that she had this medical condition? It being "well known" does not equate to him definitely knowing.

Sorry, Smith was the one that couldn't take a joke and then them having an open marriage and being public about it as well.....sorry, you lost all of your privacy rights, you opened yourself up for all kinds of jokes and mocking him.
Strangerland
Except that Jada took that so called 'no one's business but their own', turned it into an internet show, interviewed Will, and put it out their for the entire planet. They literally made it everyone's business.
Strangerland
I saw the special - it was great. Some of it was so-so, but overall there were some good laughs.
