He probably did not stay his butt home, eating around total strangers and attending crowded event are a sure way of getting Covid

I guess because he was vaccinated.

And? He is ok? No laughing matter

5 ( +6 / -1 )

hopefully he makes a speedy recovery!

Breakthrough infections do happen, that’s why it’s important to mask up.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

“The point of getting vaccinated is that it greatly reduces your chances of serious illness from Covid”

”But Chris Rock is vaccinated and got Covid”

”Yes, but the point is vaccinations greatly reduce your chances of serious illness from Covid”

”But Chris Rock is vaccinated and got Covid”

”I know, but the point is…Excuse me, I’m just off to teach my cat about the inherent fallacy in Aristotle’s wheel paradox.

Doesn’t seem very intelligent to let politics influence whether or not you should take measures to keep you out of the ICU.

I got vaxxed but I'm not taking chances with it. And I don't want to be a carrier.

I don’t know, doesn’t sound like Chris Rock’s symptoms are “extremely low” by his “trust me you don’t want this” comment.

So he should have said ‘ trust me you want this’ and then we’d have known that his symptoms were mild???

Brilliant sir.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Fully vaxxed and still got it. What's the point?

An intelligent person would think "he got it, and is still recommending the vaccine, maybe I should listen to his perspective".

...An intelligent person.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

"trust me you don’t want this."

Doesn't sound like the sniffles to me..

Well, it doesn't say 'he came down with covid' or 'he's sick with covid' or 'he's hospitalised with covid'.

It says 'he has been diagnosed with COVID-19' and 'I just found out I have COVID'.

He didn't tweet, 'Hey I got vaccinated and still got the virus, what's the point?' He tweeted that folk should get vaccinated.

Sounds to me like he took a test and it came back positive - which is indeed what the Guardian is reporting. Likely very mild symptoms if any.

in line with 98% of the population vaccinated or unvaccinated.

*80.9% of infections are mild** (with flu-like symptoms) and can recover at home.*

*13.8% are severe**, developing severe diseases including pneumonia and shortness of breath.*

*4.7% as critical **and can include: respiratory failureseptic shock, and multi-organ failure.*

in about 2% of reported cases the virus is fatal.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-symptoms/

Around four in five hospitalizations for COVID-19 occurred in unvaccinated people in Wisconsin, translating to a vaccine effectiveness of 73 percent in preventing hospitalizations. For preventing death, vaccines proved 91 percent effective, as only one in twelve Wisconsinites who succumbed to COVID-19 was vaccinated.

"Unvaccinated are 5X more likely to catch delta, 11X more likely to die - Three fresh CDC studies show vaccines holding up against delta."

https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/09/unvaccinated-are-5x-more-likely-to-catch-delta-11x-more-likely-to-die/

Let's put that another way - vaccinated people are 5x less likely to to catch Delta and 11x less likely to die

Advantage: Vaccinated Unvaccinated

Fully vaxxed and still got it. What's the point?

He's not in the hospital - he's not taking up valuable space and resources and overworked workers away from other patients who need help the most (mostly unvaccinated people who are filling up hospitals and overworking the healthcare workers)

An intelligent person would hear "Im vaccinated and really sick.

I don’t hear him saying he’s ‘really sick’.

Doesn’t seem very intelligent to let politics influence whether or not you should take measures to keep you out of the ICU.

This is NOT a political matter, it's common sense. Even the rotten CCP in China knows that. This is everybody's burden.

This is NOT a political matter, it's common sense.

You know that, I know that.

Seems some folk who rant about the leftist discourse, whatever that is, don't know that.

*I got vaxxed but I'm not taking chances with it.* And I don't want to be a carrier.

Good luck with that.

I ain't fooling with this. We need to use our heads. I ain't going to any functions where there's a lot of folks. esp. where there are children. Our state governors don't give a DAMN about them and they are the most vulnerable right now. I only go out for shopping, food and that's about it. No soccer games, no football games, no rodeo (we had one last week), no Guns'n'Roses (this week), no sold out gig in a club to see the Nigerien new guitar ace Mdou Moctar (I saw and met him in 2019, he's great - check him out), no movie in a cinema (like most movies lately are worth the bother), no religious services (video only), no parties, no barbershop, nothing.

My aunt's funeral caused five of my kinfolk to get CoVid-19, four of them survived and my uncle-widower didn't. This is nothing to fool with and it's scared the funk outta me. Our local VA is taking steps to play it safe and we need to do the same.

God knows I wanted so bad to join the spontaneous city celebrations that erupted when Joe beat the sassybrat fascist last November but instead I put on some celebratory music, starting with that classic Kool and the Gang song.

He seems to have done everything right. Speedy recovery, my man

> Chris LarterSep. 20  02:08 pm JST

hopefully he makes a speedy recovery

Yes. A vacc is no guarantee but it can lessen the infection so you don't die. Take it easy, Chris. I wish you a fast recovery, dude. Stay safe. We're gonna get thru this sooner or later.

I know you don’t see it, but your post disproves itself.

Strangerland, the leftist discourse and policy-making around COVID has no relationship whatsoever to science.

It has a lot to do with culture, politics, hierarchy, psychology and control. But science and health are totally absent:

I don’t know, doesn’t sound like Chris Rock’s symptoms are “extremely low” by his “trust me you don’t want this” comment.

Jesse Jackson and Oscar Delahoya were actually hospitalized, among many others.

An intelligent person would think "he got it, and is still recommending the vaccine, maybe I should listen to his perspective".

Actually, an intelligent person would think, “hes fully vaccinated but still got covid and is recommending the vaccine. And other fully vaccinated people are now being hospitalized with covid. What’s going on?”

...An intelligent person.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Likely very mild symptoms if any.

Doesn't sound like the sniffles to me..

(Also, that was supposed to read hugely 'vaccinated' countries in my previous post.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Wools! One in a half million that are vaccinated but come down with a minor case.

Propaganda ad?

Get your shots

An intelligent person would think "he got it, and is still recommending the vaccine, maybe I should listen to his perspective".

...An intelligent person.

You spelled unthinking and obedient wrong.

An intelligent person would hear "Im vaccinated and really sick. Get the vaccine" as strange.

Then an intelligent person would look at what's happening in hugely countries around the world like Singapore, Israel, the US, UK etc and notice exploding cases compared to last year when no one was vaccinated.

Then an intelligent person would start to ask questions.

An intelligent person who is not scared.
