Cleavage-inspired ice cream offered at Akihabara cafe to celebrate release of 'Senran Kagura' sequel

"Senran Kagura" is a series of ninja breast physics simulators for the 3DS that also include elements of side scrolling action. The first game was released in Japan in September 2011 to generally positive reviews, receiving praise for its exhilarating action-based gameplay and unabashed use of giant, 3D bouncing breasts in a variety of novel situations.

The game actually did so well that both an anime series and a sequel are set for release later this year. The latter, "Senran Kagura Burst" (which is ironically only a letter away from "bust"), will be hitting stores on Aug 30 and, to build anticipation for the launch, developers MarvelousAQL have teamed up with Akihabara cafe CAFE EURO to create two overtly erotic "Senran Kagura"-inspired desserts.

This “Chest-Thumping Senran Kagura Limited Edition Menu” will be available only at CAFE EURO from Aug 10-19.

Customers have the choice of “Nyuu Nyuu Gelato” (400 yen) or “Nyuu Nyuu Soft Cream” (350 yen), both of which come with a special "Senran Kagura" sticker.

According to the pamphlet, both desserts were fashioned in the likeness of the promotional image above, which shows lead character and ninja-in-training Homura with a diploma nestled snugly in her cleavage. While we probably wouldn’t have made the connection before, now we don’t think we’ll be able to look at two scoops of ice cream without blushing again.

Be sure to check out the official trailer here if you want to see Senran Kagura action, because you can bet it’d take a miracle for a game like this to see an international release.

That strategically placed stick is no coincidence I'm sure.

"Ninja breast physics simulator" ... Four words I never thought I'd see used in the same sentence...

Tacky.

And the product looks less like female anatomy and more like male.

I went to the link. The vid was full of enormous cartoon boobs in slo-mo up-and-down bounce. At one point one of the female "ninjas" wearing a meruhen frilly dress shoots a machine gun with a long, fat barrel, and which has big round giant bullet-clips on either side of the barrel. You can guess what it looks like. She was shooting it, btw, by mounting it, like on her crotch, like a strap-on... I certify that the product is exactly what it appears to be. Baloney.

Ridiculous but will be wildly popular with local loser boys.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Silly and childish. The manchildren will buy it, because it's the closest they'll get to having breasts in their mouth.

Probie -- spot on. No doubt there will be lines stretching around the block.

Suppose they have to get their fix of cleavage somewhere as J women arnt really known for having any. Can just imagine the J boys in their suits lining up giggling like little school boys to get their booby ice cream. Shaking my head in amusement....

cletus,

The ladies of Japan are built better than you think if you had bothered to check haha!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Amen GW. Japanese women just dont flaunt their cleavage. And in places they do, its more obesity showing than real breast anyway. Yuk!

I don't understand the meaning of this first sentence. Is a "breast physic simulator" an algorythm for simulating the movement of breasts on screen, or is it a physical device that wobbles in the manner of breasts? Probably the former, but then what is "side scrolling action"? If the latter, I thought that perhaps the wobbling mounds might have pointing device functionality achieved by stroking their sides.

Nihonjinron, my pleasure. 1) The Japanese have a long tradition of loving simulations, such as "foriegn villages," plastic food, and traditionally various offerings that look good but are not real: wooden horses, pictures of horses, lanterns that don't lightup, miniature shrines, and now at Obon, pretty cakes that taste like sand. 2) Feminine sexuality is scary and has a long history of strong association with taboo. Breasts are however, above the belt and the cute side of a scary subject. That they are emphasised more and more may be to do with the increasing fear of other organs, perhaps as a result of Westernization with misrepresents Japan completely (as 'Patriarchal'!), and in an increasingly demasculinized Japanese male. 3) Japan is a matriarchal society, where the mother is prime role model for young Japanese, and breasts as the symbol of motherhood, are just one (or two) of the best things in existence, that some Japanese men even wish they had (hence the man-bra), or at the very least in their hands. I think that mirror rice cakes and perhaps Anpan man, as an round edible person with red circular protuberances, may in fact be breast-man but that is another story. 4) Male sexual desire is not such a big deal or nearly as taboo in Japan. This article and the interest it creates relates also to an Oubeijinron (theory of Westerners). All males like breasts, but Western males are too guilty to admit it, or play this game.

timtak -- talk about misrepesentation. Or did you miss the popularity of Hooters in the U.S.? You'd be better keeping your pop psycholgy theories/analysis to yourself.

I did not mean to suggest that US males were completely repressed but it seems clear to me that there is far less taboo on male sexual desire in Japan, where for instance it is difficult to purchase a news magazine without pictures of naked women and not just their breasts, and Japanese men read these magazines openly on the train. Or where not only is there Hooters but far wider variety of establistments that are "based on female sex appeal" (Hooters employment manual).

timtak: Hey, I love breasts (no guilt admitting it at all), but I think this is a silly sales idea.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Then perhaps that is because of (1) - that you are less into simulations, more into the real thing.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Sounds like my type of ice cream

if only you could impregnate your 3DS, then Japans population would be on the rise.

I think man's obsession with breasts is pretty much a world-wide phenomena, I know I sure do enjoy them. However, I will note that this comic book standard of putting overly endowed women into the pictures is not restricted to Japan. As a kid from the US who collected comic books in the 70's and 80's, I honestly can't recall seeing any of the female characters being any smaller than a 40DD. Point is, it's pretty much always been an aspect of comics and most likely always will be. I would say that the Japanese have managed to take it to an entirely different level, but still. Guess the biggest difference for me is that I grew out of it (looking at comics, not breasts)... :p

Agree most of drawn female heroines/chartacters got physically impossible proportions, counts for both east and west. Same could be said for many male characters as their Body fat index would be so low that they would be sick.

I think the Ice-cream is funny and take it as a joke.

Thank you JT for posting this GREAT Cleavage-inspired ice cream offered at Akihabara cafe to celebrate release of 'Senran Kagura' sequel. I must try this. LOL

It is a very good idea about cleveage ice creams. It's cool and sweet tasting and yet remind you of hot weather. What not to like ? LOL

...very well, then.

I will plunge my straw deep into those scoops of ice cream!!

Another "only in Japan" news item. Keep them coming JT...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

That's why I love Japan.

supermonk-

"i will plunge my straw deep into those scoops of ice cream" and suck!

Timtak 's analysis is pretty good, I think. Maybe not the hole story, but a few important overlooked aspects.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

perversion bordering on insanity...

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

You do know what cleavages represents. According to ethology, it represents the cleft between the buttocks. But then if you look at in another way, it looks a bit gay.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

@Bob

Great post!

It is exactly that.

Perversion bordering on insanity.

Or better yet. How about juvenile!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Nice, cold curvy scoops of ice cream?? To represent young ta tas?? Maybe Timtak or Denon can help us, what is that straw supposed to represent again?? I hope to the lord, sweet Jesus that it NOT a phallic symbol, maybe representing paizuri??

That's a joke plagiarized off of a Dead-or-Alive review. Basically means that rag-doll physics aren't just used for arms and legs, but also for breasts.

This is insulting

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

the sexualisation of ice cream?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

This competes with the Academy Awards song "We Saw Your Boobs" for dumb pre-pubescent humor.
