CNN was one of my first sources of info when I wanted to wake up and have a quick glimpse on what was going on in the world. Stopped checking their website when they closed the comment section back in 2014.

Got even more disappointed a few years later, their hatred for Trump (like him or not!) poisoned their credibility to a point of no return, it didnt matter what time of the day I checked CNN online or on tv somewhere, it was always about bashing a single individual day and night, every single time I turned on the tv the screen was split in two with anchors trashing the same man, countless articles you swear it was written by school children (never read past the title or the 3rd paragraph), there was just no news about the World anymore.

Truth is, people are aware of their true colors and there is no one to blame but themselves.

I think I’m reasonably intelligent but I can’t say I know all non-partisan, serious media out there. There are just too many. There are new ones popping up all the time online.

Not really as you have liberals, conservatives, and independents as well as libertarians that watch and speak on the network, CNN didn't do that, and wow is you if you defended Trump or Republicans, you were released from your contract. CNN just made their bones off of bashing Trump and then the Jan. 6 and QAnon drivel, other than that, they don't have anything worthwhile to watch. Definitely Stelter. Loved how Wolfe told him off the other day, that was the best TV ever.

Fair enough. Apologies for being so brusque.

Actually, I think it would be extremely difficult to find any media that an objective observer could say is steadfastly non-partisan, mainstream or otherwise. Humans being humans are going to carry our biases with us to a certain extent wherever we write, narrate, etc. And we tend to prefer consuming media that caters to our biases. It's just easier to absorb (less critical thinking required).

Perhaps in cases where there is plenty of time to seek out, verify and write up information, the opportunity for non-partisanship is there, but it's increasingly rare and disparate. Nowadays with the 24-hour news cycle, "news" is consistently pumped out and the line between news and opinion is frequently blurred. Even venerated publicly-owned media such as the BBC, CBC, ABC and NHK, which like to rest upon their old reputations for impartiality have adopted biased reporting, either through omitting important stories or facts that don't suit the interests of who controls editorial policy or the purse strings, or promoting certain agendas ahead of others. I could go on about this all day but have other things to do.

So I can't really recommend anything specific, but instead suggest reading/watching a wide variety of media from across the spectrum and different fields, which I guess is probably what you're doing anyway. I say that in good faith.

I cannot blame CNN for wanting to cash in on streaming, but what will they gain when I can easily go to their website or just watch them on TV right now?

The only thing that's keeping CNN from being the worst news channel in the world is the existence of Fox, Newsmax and OAN.

Lying and a poor intellect are the hallmarks of the right wing, so there's no point trying to convince them otherwise. The list of the GOP liars who have come to the network and been humiliated is too long to count , though most of them are so scared of getting humiliated again they dont have the courage to come on the network!!!
