Comedian Masako Ohara goes nude for book on love

Comedian Masako Ohara, 34, has made her first foray into the world of nude photography by appearing naked on the cover of her self-deprecating book, called "Oharateki renaidou sekirara" ("Love Ohara-style Bare and Upfront.")

Inside, Ohara speaks of her luck in love, or the lack of it, touching upon her flings and affairs that have seen her with 19 men since she was 16. She writes how one man made her buy a portable toothbrush kit so as to hide the signs of a night at his place, and how another registered her in his cell phone under his boss' name.

She said: "You never know what will happen with love," and said she hopes the book will serve as a real-life reference for some women, helping them to avoid relationship failures. Her partner in comedy duo "Kuwabata Ohara," Eri Kuwabata, 33, last year married the younger man she had been seeing for three years.

"Oharateki renaidou sekirara" goes on sale March 26 for 1,260 yen.

Another nudie book... how exciting...

Junnama -- I think you misunderstand, or I do. My interpretation of the article is that the only "nudie" is on the cover. Otherwise, the book is just this gal's writings.

how another registered her in his cell phone under his boss’ name.

Lol, I think we've all done that. Oldest trick in the book.

Yeah, could be. I can't tell from the article...

I always found her manzai partner to be the more attractive one.

Lovely feet.

'She writes how one man made her buy a portable toothbrush kit so as to hide the signs of a night at his place, and how another registered her in his cell phone under his boss’ name.'

So she went out with guys who had girlfriends or wives. I can only hope that other young girls who read this book will learn how stupid it is to date a man who is already taken.

I would love to see her book.

I'd like to "see" her "book" also :D

Ohara speaks of her luck in love, or the lack of it,

I doubt if she can expect any in the future, since she's already established herself as an exhibitionistic tattletale!

So this book is on cheating your spouse, isn't it?

What dolphingirl said. Seems to me her "lack of" success in love is pretty evident.

You took the words right out of my mouth, combinibento!

Like the pale blue muted tones.

maybe if she went for single guys she might have more luck

19 boyfriends in 17, 18 years? well, i'm sorry, but i dont want her "lesson of love".

Who’s Masako Ohara?

19 affairs in 18 years...quite a tally. I like a woman with a few miles on the clock. Less messing about, and you don't have to make up so much nonsense.

career circling the drain ? do a nudie book...works almost every time

And almost like the end of the caeer. Unless ofcourse, you start reinventing yourself and do something using your head.

stirfry, again I have to wonder if you know anything about this country. Her career as a comedian is doing just fine. Do you watch TV? And this is not a nudie book. Comedians are always releasing books about themselves these days. Rarely sells though.

Dolphingirl: I don't mean to be bitchy but in reality most J women don't give a damn if the man is someone's husband or bf or whatever...they'll grab him if they want to..just look around and watch ....:)

looks a bit malnournished both physically and mentally

Hey Mr agent how can i ensure that my book sells well? Hmmm get naked, that always seems to work. As for the comedian thing that made me laugh, i didnt know there were any comedians in Japan, only immature idiots who act like clowns.

She probably also opposes the objectification of women in pornography.

Pap. Pablum. Grist.

I guess you can't judge a book by its cover, but what are the chances that this book will push some beloved, well written work out of my bookshelf or off of any of my several coffee tables? Slim and none. I would so much rather have something written by Steve-O or Bam Marghera.

Don't want to be seen as too much of a snob, you understand.

seesaw: Trust me, I know. But being the other woman is not only totally disrespectful to the girlfriend/wife it is also degrading to the woman herself.

But being the other woman

That is one of the saddest and the despicable thing I think. I feel sad when a woman does this to herself. Well, somedo it for the material benefits, and to a small degree I can accept that. But otherwise it is such a lowly demenaing thing for the 'other owman'. Not worth it to ruin the life of the first woman and be in a position where you will always be the 'other'.

I'd kick her out of bed - so I can do her on the floor.

I feel sorry for this person. Not making it as a comedian so goes nude to try and peddle her new book? For shame!

It is so sad that so many people commenting seem to completely miss the point of her being nude on the cover ~o_0~ the title of the book should have given a very big clue ne? In very typical Nihonjin-style humor,, she is exposing herself because the book is an EXPOSÉ! She is admitting to all of the mistakes she made in her many love affairs and laughing at herself about it. The book is therapy for her spirit to admit how baka she acted for so very long.. and by writing the book she lets the readers (hopefully) learn from her mistakes so that they do not make the same missteps! Was there this same reaction years ago when Fran Drescher wrote her book Enter Whining and showed everyone her bottom on the back cover?
