Daniel Craig is not really a showbiz person. He values his privacy and tends to look uncomfortable in the limelight. So it's good to see him back in the role for one last mission.

Aye; and just look at the cast list - a who's who of talent. As much as I enjoy his Bond; this series really made an impact. I'd never have thought back then that he'd make the 007 role his.

Now, as long as the script is good and it's a fitting finale for his take on the character. He hasn't done too badly, so far. Casino Royale and Skyfall being the best outings.

Great cast! It's set in a similar milieu to the one Geordie inhabits in 60s Soho but a bit more glamourous. Mark Strong is incredibly good; the versatility of these actors is remarkable.

Yup; loved it. Part of the Jake Arnott crime trilogy. Read the books, really enjoyed. The BBC version of TLF was class. Didn't see the ITV adaptation of the seconf book, mind.

Mark Strong, I would have liked to see in Bond alongside Craig (OFitN reunion) but he's already been in the Bond spoof; Kingsman: The Secret Service.

As for others' "jokes" about a Bond of a different gender? This was done before on the Doctor Who thread. But to rehash; it wouldn't work because of the kind of psychological character you have with Bond. Plus; he's not a shapeshifting alien with two hearts who travels through time. But a black Bond? Sure; why not? Idris probably has it in the bag.

I think you're missing the point. Bond is the quintessential male misogynist, highly trained, cold blooded killer. I'm not saying a woman couldn't play the character but it wouldn't be Bond.

Remember how sections of the media and online commentariat had a collective meltdown over his appointment to the role?

He's now one of the best Bonds. He's brought the harder edge to it that Timothy Dalton tried to do but was let down by very average scripts.
