How embarassing for their families.

How embarrassing that you find these men embarrassing.

Is this Japan's answer to Gangnam Style?

When I saw the coloured bands I was thinking more like the Japanese Wiggles.

Good on ‘em. If it puts the spotlight on their town then all the better!

Some people must wake up hating the world. I get up check out the news head to good new only to find comments abusing 4 community minded men giving up the spare time in attempt to bring visitors and business to their area. I hope you all feel better now after offloading your ill feeling morning on these nice old men.

Are we starting to see the end of tiktok the same way facebook died for the younger audience?

Good luck to them. While I think calling themselves "heart-throbs" is purely tongue-in-cheek, they are doing what they can to promote their town which is in a bad way. Hopefully they can help reverse the death of their hometown, Wake.

Best of luck on their efforts, maybe their activity is not going to result in an effective promotion of their town, but every effort should be recognized, many people feel dispair and impotence by seeing how their beloved towns get less and less activity and population every passing year. Doing something is much better than just waiting.

No link to the video? Come on, JT...Let's see what these geezers can do!

Look at it this way. Japan Inc. is stressful enough. You gotta have some fun. Nothing wrong about laughing at yourself. If anyone says, "That's embarrassing, or Kimochi warui," then tell them, "Yessssss! AM I bothering you?"

This is the world today. Instead of using intelligence and smartness to tackle problems, people resort to stupidity and grotesquely attitudes. So they hope that the more and more stupider world we live in will respond with some sort of compassion and sentimentalism in default of reacting with criticism and rationality towards such blatant depletion of human intelligence.

Wow, impressive! I hope someone will come up with Obakyun too !

"We wanted to come up with something that would revitalise our aging countryside community, which is suffering from population decline with fewer and fewer children," he said.

This makes sense, Kochi agricultural community is not getting any younger for sure.

They maybe could lose the belly warmers.

They look at least 10-15 years older than they are .....not aging well!

50's is old? So sad Japan.......

If they’re having fun and making people happy, I wish them all the best.

Here's a link to a YouTube video. Warning. It's annoying, but it's a bit of fun. It's not embarrassing. Good luck to the guys, and to their town.

I'm not a fan of the content, but I do like that they are taking initiative to try something.

Will it work? Maybe not, but why not give it a shot? All kinds of other garbage catches on in Japan, why not this?

What they should be doing tho is showing different points of interest in their videos.

Maybe do the dance at the beach, some building, shopping center, monument, or whatever they have in their town.

Build some interest in what they are trying to sell. Make their goods, "famous" so that people would want to come?

TikTok Surpasses Google, Facebook As World’s Most Popular Web Domain per Forbes.com. Amazing how quickly they've come along. Users of all ages.

All but TikTok for me.

My brain agrees.

I hope the old geezers do well and continue to bring some laughter to people while padding whatever little YEN they make to support their pensions. They should rename themselves as the "Over the Hill Gang"!

his old primary school has closed due to lack of demand.

A local shopping mall has also disappeared

some annual festivals are no longer held in the town.

Hard pass, but have fun fellas.

Andy Warhol did say that everyone will be famous for 15 minutes. He was right.

Oh dear. This was painful to watch.

They looked embarrassed to be there. Who put them up to it?
