De Niro is quite an interesting specimen. He started off his career with some of the benchmark performances as far as actors and films go. He could have just quietly retired and been remembered as one of the greatest actors easily. And yet he has morphed into this parody of his caricature and been involved in some of the most dreadful films ever since. Why bother? It's certainly not for the need of coin.
