I thought Johnny Depp was a CHI personality to begin with.

He's not pulling out of the film. Actors and directors leaving the set for a while isn't unheard of. it's pretty obvious from the article they're having a rocky marriage and he's going home to make sure she's not having the locks changed

Heard is believed to have returned to the United States with the couple’s two dogs Boo and Pistol last week,

LOL. Boo and Pistol (the dogs) left Australia. Johnny Depp went after them. The "official" story is that Depp left to be with his wife, Heard.

Hollyweird - It's better than "real" life.

"He’s going back to the States on the first available private charter flight he can get on"

"Plenty of flights out of Brisbane airport he could snag an economy seat on. If he REALLY wanted to get home."

Har!

@Laguna

Johnny Depp: 51. Amber Heard: 28. This explains a lot, I assume.

This may be a passable comment today. That does not mean its valid. And I find it totally unacceptable, even if SOME PEOPLE think its cool.

If this were 1950 we would blame Robert DeNiro's previous divorce on race and it would have been a passable comment, although still a bigoted comment. There are many couples of similar ages, doing fine, and that comment is very hurtful to them.

Depp has relationship troubles before. Remember Winona Ryder? Its not like you really have to strain your brain to think of things other than age that are the problem.

And have you even seen Amber Heard? She is one of the hottest women alive. Try and tell me that that fact has not gone to BOTH their heads.

there's a lot more drama in the actors lives than in the movies.

"Private jet with a private kitchen and toilet. Nice."

It isn't quite as luxurious as you might think; the "toilet"... depending on airframe manufacturer, is nothing more than a removable seat cushion over a commode (concealed chamber pot) typically located in the aft-most seating (nearest the tail), and privacy curtain is an OEM option.

Johnny Derp.

I love all the Pirates Of The Caribbean installments, Depp has a funny sense of humor that it's unique to him. But his private life is not fun at all, it seems. He should be professional, at least. Finish the movie, then break the apartment later.

Johnny has a private island that he calls F###O## Island (True) which says a lot about his attitude.

He stormed off set to be with his dogs?

Prosecute him to the full extent of the law. Lol. I've seen Border Security. It would probably be a $300 fine. It may just break him. Lol.

Maybe she should stick to women.

If they divorce, she will definitely get a fat sum from Johnny. I ain't dissin her though, I too think she is a hottie with a hella fine body.

I was glad to see Depp was forced to have his dogs taken home. I used to be a fan of him but I haven't for years. He even looks a bit plastic. I can't stand it when celebrities/famous actors think a country's laws don't apply to them.

As to him storming off the set of that rubbish movie, who really cares. They could get that guy he based the character on (from the rolling stones) to replace him. Wouldn't make that much difference appearance wise. I'm glad to see that the rest of the crew and actors will get paid though if it does not go ahead. Only fair having to deal with divas like him. Still, at least he hasn't attacked any of the crew, verbally or physically. He's not that bad yet.

Pardon me I mean 'midlife crisis'.....This is not the first time Depp has ejected his toys out the pram, It is unlikely to be the last.... After three months and bickering??

cleo: "...so wouldn't he be hit with a huge breach of contract suit ? It isn't just his film, even if he is the star. Lots of folk depending on it."

I'm well aware of that, and said as much, especially indicating that latter part and that a lot of people would suffer, especially Australia itself. As for Depp, the WORST that would happen is being hit with a breach of contract suit... for a movie he seemingly didn't really want to do anyway (I'm guessing he only agreed, as with the last one, because he was offered huge sums of money). Before that happens, though, they'll be begging him to come back, as it literally means the movie, his or not, if he is selfish and decides not to. And he can afford a breach of contract suit, I'm guessing, monetarily and otherwise. I'm not saying what he is doing is good -- I agree it's selfish, he's being a drama queen, and he's breaking laws; although I don't think it's a mental breakdown.

John-San: "If they do pull the plug on the movie, anyone and everyone will get paid for the contract they sign"

I've already said as much in my comment. But let's say they wrap up next week after failing to get Depp back, what happens to the increased tourism, increased revenue to the area the movie is being filmed BECAUSE it is being filmed, and other money that would have benefitted the area and the nation that was not included in contracts? The nation would still suffer more from the film being cut suddenly than they would having to put up with the shenanigans of its lead actor and the film being completed. They're not going to be able to look at a film and say "That's here, mates! That's us!", they're only going to be able to say what wasn't.

It appears that Johnny has gone off the Depp end, again.

@smithinjapan

Disagree I'm afraid. Nobody is bigger than the law. Moreover, Australia's phyto-sanitary regime is in place for one purpose only, to protect Australia's huge agribusiness sector. Sure, a couple of well-kept dogs are probably not going to cause an epidemic, but look what happened in the US with BSE. Moreover, ignorance is no defence in any court of law.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

she is not good for him and vice versa

0 ( +1 / -1 )

smithinjapan. If they do pull the plug on the movie, anyone and everyone will get paid for the contract they sign. The labour law in Australia for Australian Citizens or Foreigner workers working in Australia, would see all contract pay out. On top of that any Australian employee would be allow to sue Disney for unfair dismissal. If one of the employee is Australian living in Hollywood and was ask to work on the movie. He would be able to sue for unfair dismissal and cost involved. He or she having to live away from home at that time which was Hollywood. He lease a house for 3,6,or 12months, lease a car for 12 months plus the length of his contract. All of this would be deem as cost involved. Unless Disney apply for bankruptcy which would be very unlikely. The lowest amount for unfair dismissal is $8,000 AUD plus any cost involve and the length of the contract. like the above. That why Depp went home because he would know this. If this labour law did not exist , Depp would still be filming. Australia is not like Japan.

Depp's a troubled soul in a perpetual mind life crisis.

let's say Johnny just says, "Screw it!" and leaves, as the article suggests he's going to (or has). The movie cannot be made without him

...so wouldn't he be hit with a huge breach of contract suit ? It isn't just his film, even if he is the star. Lots of folk depending on it.

It sounds like Depp is going through a bad patch -ignoring quarantine laws, answering back to 'entertainment websites', arguing on set.... is it all getting too much for him? A nervous breakdown in the offing? Some other kind of meltdown?

0 ( +6 / -6 )

wait, they are making another PotC movie?!?! what the heck for? the first one was passable, but the others have been utterly odious. depp hasn't made anything worth watching in a looong time.

It's like Val Kilmer as Batman all over again... primadonna actors, Pshaw!

HongoTAFEinmate: "Hope they prosecute him to the full extent of the the law. Ignorance is no excuse."

If it was pure arrogance that allowed him to bring in his dogs, then yes, they SHOULD. BUT, let's say Johnny just says, "Screw it!" and leaves, as the article suggests he's going to (or has). The movie cannot be made without him, or rather, it might be but would NOT be seen in theaters if it did (straight to DVD and failure). And if they pull up stakes on the set, who loses out most? Australia. No doubt there would be some contract issues Disney would have to settle in regards to leasing out the space, but still.

I don't care about the movie, by the way. I stopped watching those movies a long time ago, and was surprised he went back for a fourth, and now more after swearing not to again, but I'm just saying that it won't help Australia any to be sticking it to him like that. Making a mountain out of a molehill here could cost millions.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Do they really need him on set? The last Pirates disaster was 90% Computer Generated Imagery...

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Just as long as he comes back to Australia and takes his lumps for trying to flaunt the law and import his pooches. Hope they prosecute him to the full extent of the the law. Ignorance is no excuse.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

Is Johnny going to end up on his "Jack" again?
