Hope Heard is jailed.

No winners here.

on a different note - Depp owns an island !?

Amber Heard is a real piece of work. She’s a diagnosed borderline among other mental problems, it’s all a show. Just hope poor Johnny and his team don’t take an out of court settlement

An island? Of course not - he's no commoner. He owns a chain of islands.

So far as Amber's photo of cocaine etc., looks obviously staged. Which leads one to think the whole charade is staged.

pedestrian fiction

I enjoyed that bit of descriptive linguistic flair.

He uses some interesting language suggesting he is highly educated. With so many specific details it is difficult for me to entirely disbelieve her.

I doubt it is 100% her fault, but she’s definitely the main cause of the problem there.

A man with a history of trashing hotel rooms isn't?

Don’t know about that, but trashing a room does not equate to violence towards others.

You can certainly search for it and it will come up. A man with a history of drugs and trashing rooms is more trustworthy than a woman. That basically seems to be your stance. A man who drew pictures with his own blood in a drug rag. But you still want to blame the woman.

I think she has a lot of issues as well and needs to be held accountable for her behaviour but her behaviour doesn't make his behaviour okay.

tmarie, yes, I blame her, not because she is a woman, but because she bragged about it.

Some people are bad for each other.

Surprised there hasn't been calls for capital punishment, eh.

Relationship didnt work, both probably had a part to play in that, cant she just simply walk away ?

I know many woman who are not satisfied until they have destroyed their former partner, they are sick mentally and cannot simply move on, they have serious mental health issues even before the relationship started.

Do not get involved with Mental woman if you can help it.

Maybe some people have a type, or maybe they bring out the worst in their partners?

Maybe some men should change their behaviour and stop blaming the women.

English libel law seems a little complicated. It would be helpful if the news spelled out some of the legal issues and not just focus on the sordid tales of the couple. I understand that The Sun will have to prove their claim of "wife beater" to be true or at least considered "fair comment". I'm not sure if, "Come on. No reasonable person would believe anything printed in our newspaper." serves as a defence.

She knew exactly what she was marrying.

Hollywood knew she was a gold digger and so did Elon Musk!

wow, just... wow.

@Toasted - Now think how that would sound if the genders were reversed:

Of a beaten woman: "Some women have a type" (unfortunately true -so that can slide). "They bring out the worst in their partners?" That's the worst kind of victim blaming - along the line of "she asked for it."

"Women should change their behavior and stop blaming the men." You see where this goes now?

Meanwhile, Bjorn's comment would translate to "don't get involved with a violent man if you can help it."

Sound advice.

Facts are facts. Partners from hell come in more than one gender.

It's really hard to know who to believe, especially when drugs and alcohol are part of the mix. One thing not in Depp's favor is that Heard sought and was given a restraining order against him in 2016 on the grounds of domestic abuse, which seems to indicate the judge was convinced he posed a threat to her.

But The Sun was way out of line anyway. And yet they wouldn't be in business if people didn't want to read that trash.

Surely the best way is to make a judgement based on the evidence. Instinctively blaming men or women is discriminatory.

Don't stick your ***** in crazies, true for poor and rich.

It is very, very easy to get a restraining of the short term type she got in the US.

I'm assuming there's no medico legal cert or it wouldn't drag on this far.

If so chances are it's because there was no beating
