Um, well, Leo, if we are all supposed to examine our own habits, maybe you could cut down on your use of private jets and big luxury yachts. I think your carbon footprint probably leaves a little bit to be desired. Some might accuse you of "do as I say, not as I do."

oooooohhh an 'actor' wants to talk about something serious.... well let me pull up a chair and listen...
serendipitous
The fact is he does reach a lot of people and can influence them to change their ways. That more than justifies his private jet use. Being wealthy does allow you to go around the world and see things with your own eyes. Good on him for taking a stand and spending his time and money to help out.

Wow! You're joking right? Nobody believes the media anymore. I would have to be ultra gullible to actually think that this guy cares about the environment, private plane and all‥……
I want my actors to give me scientific advice as much as I want my hot dog vendor to do my surgery
Haaa Nemui
Wow... so because it's someone wealthy and famous talking about the issue, you guys don't believe it is an issue. Pretty clever.

While I agree w/him, one has to ask what research he has personally conducted, what qualifications he has to conduct such research, which international agency does he represent, and do his views accurately represent those of the organisation he represents? Celebrities should butt out of conversations in which they are unqualified to participate.
kibousha
The sheep of society who ignore research, data, expertise, logic and reasoning, persuadable only by people who are at the top of the "popularity" ranking. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
Strangerland
You've already shown yourself to be gullible with your blind belief in Trump.
Personally, I have no problem with actors giving scientific advice, and I applaud DiCaprio for using his time on something like this, when he has enough money to do whatever he wants for the rest of his life.
Why? We have these things called 'scientists', who use this thing called 'the scientific method', part of which is 'peer review' by other scientists. If you don't believe them, you're foolish.

This is right to be in the entertainment section!

The cynics realize Radiohead spread pretty much the same message and are also entertainers. They also tend to travel the world regularly. Just saying. Good on him.
Thomao
The message is to be respected. However, he is merely a puppet to someone or a group of people pulling the strings behind the scenes. In fact, when celebs get involved in anything controversial involving politics, you truly have to research deeply as to who really is pushing the narrative. Because celebs are famous and people buy into pop, they are natural choices to push out this or that message or agenda.
Strangerland
Really? The guy is one of the most famous actors of his time, a legend already. What are you supposing they have on him to make him do something he doesn't want to?
oldman_13
I'm pretty certain some of the people hating on DiCaprio here, would have absolutely no problems if he (or any other celebrity) were calling for action to stop dolphin and whale hunting in Japan. In that case you would then be cheering him on and praising him for his courage and initiative.
Hippocrits!
Andrew Crisp
Another Celebrity with a "do I was I say not as I do" attitude when we see him ditch the yacht, the private planes, the mega mansions and any other so called Global Warming item that he owns then we might see the average person look to him as a role model.
FizzBit
So, Before the Flood, is this in reference to the biblical Noah's Ark, or Bob Dylan & The Band's 1974 live album?
Watched his first documentary a while back. Very little scientific evidence, mostly just talking heads giving opinions. Which makes question this one. Watched the trailer. It seems he's flying around the world, jets-n-copters, talking to the "little people". pfff
As others have noted...
Well lets take a look at his 6 cast members...
Elon Musk
Pope Francis
Ban Ki-Moon
Bill Clinton
John Kerry
Barack Obama
If he really wanted to change things for the better, he'd be better served doing a documentary about the PetroDollar. Unfortunately, the 4 politicians of his above cast members would decline to comment or be interviewed.
Kobe White Bar Owner
Some people are calling for him to step down due to his connection to the 1 Malaysia Development Berhad scandal.
Frederic Bastiat
What a lying dork.
plasticmonkey
The media? You're part of it, my friend. I just read your comment. You're published.
This ain't the 1950s no more. Time to throw your conspiracy theories out the window and accept that the world of media is complex. Leonardo is no threat to you.
Frederic Bastiat
Let's see... How many of the algorean predictions have come to pass? Right, NONE. Not. One. Dunce-Caprio must be unaware of the fact.

Wow, I did not realize he had a PhD in EarthScience. Pretty impressive.

Leo wants Nobel Prize like Al Gore. He should stop flying his private jet that pollutes the air we breathe to live. He should use commercial jet instead of private jet.
Also Pope Francis should ask God the creator of Heaven and Earth and everything for to stop teasing human with Global warming. If the God was creator of Heaven and Earth, human, animals and likewise and then God can stop the heating Earth from above and inside.
