tech, CGI, whatever you want to call it, has ruined film in the past 20 years or so.

Take a a look at Scorsese's own "The Irishman". Instead of casting compelling new actors, he used CGI to "de-age" DeNiro and Pesci. It looked ridiculous and unbelievable. The scene where the 75 year-old actor supposedly beats up a shopkeeper drew laughter from the audience.

But, I suppose its a reflection of the audience. Millennials can't sit through a 2 hour movie unless there are constant explosions or fights.

Art, for the moment at least, is dead.
