I would like to know where Japan is on tv exports. It bills itself as some kind of soft power superpower so I imagined it had long outstripped the USA and UK.

"Downtown Abbey" is terrible... it's just another in a long line of costume dramas with ripe acting and plotlines as exciting and as interesting as a night out in 12th century Weston Super Mare

Funny how I get thumbs down for curiosity. But I suppose it is to be expected in a place not known for an abundance of curiosity.

Downtown Abbey may be boring to some British people but its something differant to foreigners . Hence its appeal .
