It used to mean one thing (forced marriage), but these days it means exactly the same thing as dekichatta kekkon (obligation marriage due to pregnancy). They're both idioms referring to the same phenomenon, and as idioms their meaning is entirely dependent on present usage.

All the tabloids and TV wide shows called it a "dekichattakon," so I guess it was a shotgun marriage. One paper had a gigantic headline, screaming it out. I had to look twice, thinking it must have been some momentous event. It reminded me of that quote, "If the headline is big enough, then that makes the story big."

I like the guy and this was more than likely going to be the case for him, which is the norm in Japan.

He has a lot of money, but I do not think he and his manzai buddy are very funny at all. There is no deep humor here, only slapstick.
