You can just say, "women".
Strangerland
And you can also say females.
Express sister
You can. But it's weird.
Strangerland
No, it's fine. Literally nothing wrong with it.
Or is there? If there is, I'm sure you can explain why.

I will explain it to both of you, as you are both struggling with expressing why one word is correct, and the other is incorrect.
Rock mentions his 6, and 3 yr. old daughters---too young to fit the definition of women, so females (which means women and girls) is used.
The article is bubbling over with essential information.

I don't think its necessary in this instance. Why not just say, "women"? "Females" is a little... distant and clinical. Almost dehumanizing. It's the kind of thing you say in medical situations, or about animals.
I mean, would you call your wife*, "my female life companion"?
You can, obviously. And people would know what you mean. But there's already a word for that.
*Excuse me if I'm making assumptions about your sexuality or relationship, but you know what I mean ^^

He's made a great transition into a serious and comedic actor.
Well so far he has not developed any acting capabilities, just relying on his Rock fame.

Dwayne 'the jungle man' Johnson, where pretty much every movie he is in needs to contain a jungle for him to roam about in. I'm quite sure no other actor outside those playing the role of Tarzan have been in more movies containing jungles the Johnson.

I prefer women as well.

Using women vs using girls for “Johnson is quick to admit females run the show”
Yeah, here is a sentence where “ladies” would be most useful.
A “lady” is an honorific title can represent a female child or adult. Admittedly, it’s not the most formal use of the word and can come off a bit cheeky, but I think that was the writers intention when they wrote the piece.
Use ladies and call it a day.
Strangerland
I will explain it to you: I never said the other is incorrect. I was pointing out hte silliness of the original poster for saying females is wrong. So a slap back on the knuckles to your attempted knuckle slap.
Females covers children too, whereas women does not. It would sound strange if we was talking about his pre-teen daughters as women.
Not equivalent. as a wife is an adult. Or should be...
Myself as well. Preferences are ok. My point was that the silly criticism of using the wrong word is just the grammar police making a false arrest.
Strangerland
Or use females, and let the people who want to whine about people using wrong language, be woke and whiney.
The Rock has thousands of hours on camera saying all sorts of stuff. He used one word that stylistically could have been another. Reminds me of old ladies who peak out of their curtains to catch someone parking in a spot that isn't theirs.

It doesn't make sense to try and explain something that never was an issue.
I was filling in the deep gap left by your failure to provide a logical reason for your desire to use a certain word.
I can see you later put into practice what I explained, so that is noble of you.

Seems like a cynical career-enhancing move to me
Strangerland
Someone else made it an issue:
Talk to them.
Are you not so good with the reading comprehension? I haven't expressed a desire to use a certain word. I was pointing out the wokeness of criticizing the Rock for the word he used. And I don't think even he had a desire to use that word, he just said something that woke people have decided needed criticism.
