I predict at least a 50% reduction in actor salaries after the pandemic has closed theatres and production.

When it comes to body builders/wrestlers turned actors, Arnold Schwarzenegger was/is way ahead of Johnson, Johnson needs to build on his acting/oratory skill., As for real acting skills, there are so so many who are way ahead of Johnson, Johnson will not even make the top 50 in that list.

You mean the man that had almost no speaking parts and just had to make faces? I don’t believe Arnie was a better actor at the beginning of his acting career. The Rock was better out the box. The issue is the he is only cast as the same person in every movie. As for Arnie, he only got to show acting skills later in his career. From Conan to Predator 1. He wasn't good. Total recall was where he started to advance.

Don't hate the playa hate the game.

If you're referring to my comment, I don't hate the player. Good luck to him. If he's the biggest deal in Hollywood for 2 years running, it's an indictment of where popular culture, to the extent that it's defined by Hollywood (which is still huge, surely) is these days. Then again, Trump still has a reasonable chance of re-election. If you fail to invest in education, this is the dumb ass world you end up with.

Well if he is the highest male human paid actor he is obviously doing something right. Don't hate the playa hate the game.

Yeah, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock will have to fine hone his thespian skills to equal the driftwood acting of Arnold. Arnold a veritable Laurence Olivier.

Getting paid is about giving entertainment

Johnson will not even make the top 50 in that list.

Did you forget the second zero?

Yeah, Arnold was on another level in terms of the action hero roles he played. T2 is one of my favorite movies of all time along with Predator, Conan and of course Kindergarten Cop. Johnson is today's Arnold, but there are other guys that I enjoy watching like Jason Statham. Shia Labeouf is also fun to watch.

Its got zero to do with acting ability. Most of Hollywood couldnt hack it on a live theater stage.

Having said that, Johnson is more than capable at what he does and brings a convincing warmth and presence to his roles.

Seems like actors are being paid by their total weight these days and not necessarily by their quality of acting!

Does this mean Hollywood is not quite as racist as advertised?

OK.

he does goo job in terrible movies.

good for him still making money, these corporate wont donate 1$ for charity but pay millions in $$ for useless movies

He is enjoyable, but IMO he is not the best male actor out there. This particular factoid says more about us than it does about him.

I don't know why, but I don’t really enjoy most Dwayne Johnson's movies. He's been in a few great ones (all the Fast-), but most are boring, crazy, add to your life problems and misery movies. Just look at The Scorpion King* for total cure to insomnia. UnLikeable persona, though I obviously have no idea what he's really like.

Wahlberg has been in a few that I hated like The Big Hit, but I’m such a huge fan.

Will Smith is mostly miss with a few hits Independence Day, MiB 1-2-3, Hancock, I am Legend are all terrible.
