These are promos to sell more tickets to coming concerts for these people and Elton's next "Farewell Tour," where tickets average $567 per person. They're more than his last "Farewell Tour."

Does everyone remember Eric Clapton's 2001 Farewell Tour?

Love Elton, especially the 70’s. - Sep 17 - Didn’t he just cancel the rest of his 2021 due to a hip injury?

What respect I had for him evaporated when he visited an orphanage in Romania

Bad, but the "Diana... Candle in the wind" was much, much worse.

Love Elton and Bernie, and his 70’s band. I don’t read or follow the lives of musicians but for the life of me I’ve never heard any serious person refer to him as “The rocket man”. I’m guessing it’s just some ding a ling writer who thinks everyone called him that because of the movie.

As far the concert, meh.

Yes, that was truly awful.

He was going to play in my hometown in April 2020, up to $6000/ticket. Then it was rescheduled for this year and the date has been rescheduled for next year.

Pathetic commercial boring music for a good cause..

Absolutely right. Live Aid was much more fun. Live 8 had its duds but it had Pink Floyd's final show before they broke up the following year. That was epic cool.

What respect I had for him evaporated when he visited an orphanage in Romania and sat at a piano playing his hits for the 4 year old audience, instead of choosing more appropriate material. He has been out of touch with reality and real people for decades.

IMHO, about that time in 1990 was the last time Elton put out anything that was even worth the bother. He had some good hits then ('Healing Hands', 'Club At the End of the Street', et al) but after that he hasn't written or released anything that's worth a damn.

Recycle of a recycle of a recycled old hit that scored in the Hot 100 at least three times. And for years the CD single was on sale, marked down to a dollar. Stores couldn't even get rid of it and used CD shops can't today. Most people in the US just bought the CD single to fund the AIDS charity in Lady Di's name and then chucked the single. Then Elton John got knighted for that.
