Emi Takei becomes youngest ever winner of Best Dresser Award

Actress Emi Takei, 16, has become the youngest ever winner of the Best Dresser Award after scooping the top prize in the 39th annual Best Dresser Award ceremony at the Grand Prince Hotel in Akasaka this week. Before Takei, the youngest ever winner of the award was Namie Amuro, now 33, who was awarded the honor at 19 years of age in 1996.

Takei said, "I'm a little surprised myself but I'm pleased to have received such a stylish award." She said that she had been interested in fashion since she was in fourth grade. Describing herself she joked, "Precocious? Yeah, that sounds about right." When asked if there were any areas in which she has grown up since stepping into the public eye, she replied wryly, "I suppose I'm getting better at answering journalists' questions."

Other winners were actor Ikki Sawamura, 43, actress Aya Sugimoto, 42, and J-league soccer star Yuji Nakazawa, 32.

is it wrong that I am tempted to satirically yell, "No JT, it's Best Dress-IST! Get it right!"?

...she replied wryly, “I suppose I’m getting better at answering journalists’ questions.”

She has real potential, until/ unless the J-promo machine grind her down...

how do they know who has the best dresser at home? they have not seen my Signed Henkel Harris solid cherry long dresser with ogee bracket feet, and solid brass Chippendale hardware. My bet is Emi sports a simple South Shore Maddox 6 Drawer Double Dresser in Pure Black

I just paid ¥500 to Yamato-shi to throw my dresser away. I guess I should have entered it in this contest first.

This isn't a real award. Don't bother publishing this fake stuff.

hey y`all - a dresser is also someone who helps actors change costumes between scenes and/acts. do you think that is what they mean?

is there a worst dressed award, a raspberry-type fashion award or something?

The men in the picture are perfectly dressed. Have no objection to their wear. Hair style could be better.
