Actress Erika Sawajiri, 27, says her divorce from multimedia creator Tsuyoshi Takashiro, 48, has been finalized, some 3 1/2 years after the couple announced they were splitting in 2010.
Sawajiri was spotted by tabloid media submitting her papers filing for divorce at a ward office in Tokyo on Dec 28. On Dec 27, Takashiro did likewise. The couple married in January 2009.
According to individuals close to Sawajiri, Takashiro is not obliged to pay alimony, Nikkan Sports reported.
After leaving the ward office, Sawajiri told reporters: "A few days ago, Tsuyoshi and I finalized the arrangements for our divorce. From this moment on, I wish to look positively toward the future, try my best, and work hard," Nikkan Sports reported.
Sawajiri also apologized to the media and her fans. "I am deeply sorry for my behavior in the past and for causing so much trouble. From 2014 onwards, I promise to be a changed individual."

Speaking of photos, I am sure there was a photo op at the courthouse, or anywhere else she went. Where were the jt photojournalists? We definitely need a pic to go with this story!

"This is great news for all guys who dream of marrying Erika."
I'll settle for some sexy photos.

I like Erika very much as an actress. She has superb potential to become a great legend. Kick the Japanese media into the dish and everything will be okay!

She's not the only one. Plenty of foreign women marry and have children with Japanese men who are old enough to be their fathers, or even grandfathers, in order to stay in Japan.

Gee, I'm shocked, a dude that was 20 plus years older than her?
Gross.

Can't help but think many younger people are getting married on a whim, like buying a new wallet and disposing of them when it gets worn and then they go looking for a new wallet. And they promise to look after the new one 'better', keeping it stuffed with money, then they go and spend the money.

People should spend more time getting to know each other before jumping into marriage. That excitement you feel because your partner is attractive or the "act" is good isn't love.
