Erika Sawajiri tries her hand at designing clothes, handbags

31 Comments

Actress Erica Sawajiri, 25, has designed a line of clothes and handbags as part of a promotion for a new cell phone drama she is appearing in. The new line is a collaborative effort between BeeTV and popular brands Samantha Thavasa and MERCURYDUO for the drama titled "Let M the reason why I love you other story."

The story is about two women who are opposite in fashion, hairstyle, make-up and personality. Sawajiri plays both characters and designed clothes and bags to match each character in the drama.

The 1980's called and they want their storyline back.

oh... really?

So the clothing and bags are a promotion for the drama, which is a promotion for the clothing and bags. Very clever.

opposite in fashion, hairstyle, make-up and personality

...but they share a similarly shallow view of life.

if you cant act and have no talent, might as well give fashion design a shot!

“Let M the reason why I love you other story.”

Does this nonsense actually mean something to someone, somewhere??

So Erika once had a cup of coffee in the office of a company or person, who design clothes and handbags, and mad a comment about one of the drawings? That's about all it takes to be promoted as a 'talent' designer here...

@tmarie

Just like everything else here in Japan ... no matter what you did in the past, as long as you apologize for it, or in some cases, let it be for some time ... and do something to make up for it, everything you have done in the past will magically be forgotten.

@Nessie

A cell phone drama is a show made not for TV, but for cell phone broadcasts.

@j4p4nFTW

You should challenge one sometime.

I recommend using the word "try" instead of "challenge".

"Erika Sawajiri tries her hand at designing clothes..." must be an easy job since she is wearing so little !

Sono hoka no monogatari?

Yea, I love you for your thick wallet.

She is a pretty woman. But where can we see some of the designs?

The drama should be at the beach. She has nice legs.

What is a cell phone drama?

i think drama that is shown on NTT DoCoMo BeeTV cell phone broadcasting service.

Ogi, she still has the same attitude problem and self important and entitlement issues. How quickly the public here forgets how much they hated her... Memories like goldfish.

Not saying she hasn't. Just that the 'betsuni' joke is old. Funny five, or even at a stretch four years ago, but not now.

What is a cell phone drama?

stuff that are so bad they don't have a chance on TV ( which mediocrity level is already high.) So, they reduce the length, image quality for cell phones...

Personally I think it's good that Erica Sawajiri has designed a line of clothes and handbags with Samantha Thavasa and MERCURYDUO . Often creative people have other talents that go unseen as they have to earn a living.

@j4pnFTW

I'm sorry, but how do you know what kind of view of life she has?

I don't. I was referring to the characters whose lives seem to revolve around "fashion, hairstyle, make-up and personality".

Was I trying to be funny or sarcastic? No surprise you didn't get it.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Indeed, what it refers to but you seemed to miss the point of my comment. Perhaps because most Japanese don't get sarcasm...

I'm not Japanese. And your comment was hardly complex humour that goes over people's head. Not able to get sarcasm? Betsuni.

Agree with tmarie.

Grumpiness is what this woman has exemplified when it comes to negative female attitude. Unfortunately in real life many other women do have similar attitudes of her, and such people are often close to your neighborhood yet you don't even know about it. This is bad.

The detriment she has caused to the society will never be forgotten. The damage has already been done and nothing will reverse it.
