Pretty, yes. Sexiest woman alive? I don't know about that. Who are these panel of people that come up with these highly subjective opinions. Didn't people magazine once say Gwyneth Paltrow was the sexiest woman alive? Give me a break. There are millions of women that look 1000 times better and I mean celebrities that would put some of these so called main stream magazine models to shame. For the life of me, they couldn't pick someone sexier?

Was MItsu Dan one of the candidates?
Jennifer Richardson
I'm on board with Penelope Cruz. She's gorgeous, has a great body, and she's got that certain something--she's sexier when you can see her moving, acting, talking, rather than just in stills.
Gwyneth Paltrow, though, seriously? Imagining sleeping with Gwyneth Paltrow somehow reminds me of watching my cat sleep on top of a pair of high heels. I mean, who am I to criticize, it's not like I would ever be in the running, but I just can't see it.

meh. I find the whole culture behind these sort of "titles" degrading for women including those they select. Why limit someone by objectifying them based on their beauty alone? Why not focus on the other amazing things they've done? Just leaving my 2 cents here.

You have to wonder why they bother with this kind of stuff. She's pretty but I don't know how she got to the top of that heap or if it's even important.

I would but these type of awards are stupid and, yes , degrading. although to be fair they also have the samer for blokes.

just to sell magazines .. I am surprised anyone buys these kinds of mags now, they are pricey and articles are longer than 140 characters ...

More like "Celebrity whose publicist paid us the most".

Sexy is within th eey of the beholder.
Some people think obesity is sexy. ... Actually, it appears as if the majority must think that.

Esquire is so out of touch with the times. And honestly, a Cruz, now? I guess it's because after the cloud leak everyone realized most of the current celebs look quite rubbish without their photoshopping crews.

Sexy definitely is in the eye of the beholder if slutty is considered sexy now-a-days.

What about Ryoko Yonekura or Erika Sawajiri?
Thunderbird2
Er... I see better looking women than her every day.

What is sexy for one, can be "meh" for the other...

The issue with titles such as "(Insert superlative adjective here) (Insert gender here) Alive" is that it's all in the eye of the beholder - as is readily apparent by the posts here. I could be labeled the "Hunkiest Network Administrator Alive" by someone (who has yet to make their presence known, unfortunately), but have a multitude of people object to the title being given to me. Frankly I would side with the multitude, but I can't call that one person wrong because that's how THEY feel. I may feel different but that's my opinion that's contradicting theirs, not a fact.

too old. beautiful, but many much younger, fresher and youthful women around.

She's hot, no doubt, but I'm with T-bird on this one.

Sexualization of women. It just never stops. Is this really worth coming up with? I wouldn't mind it saying "Prettiest woman" or "Cutest woman" but does it have to say "Sexiest"? Not appropriate.
Wolfpack
Being sexy is how this actress is able to make such a good living. If you cannot handle the sexualization of women try People Magazines annual sexiest man alive issue instead.
