Boring. Another female-centric conversion of a movie/series. Doesn't Hollywood have ANY original ideas?

I don’t think the anger is so much about a black lead or Asian character. It’s the complete disregard for Star Wars lore and unoriginal story lines that have upset people.

The Rise of Skywalker was pretty much the end of the line for me. I have no interest in wasting any more time. The much criticised Episodes 1-3 were better than Disney's efforts.

They already did that with the last three films, and look what we got!

Kathleen Kennedy is doubling down I see.

Well, 30 years from now nobody with taste will look back on these new series, but they will watch the OT. Sorry, Kathy, this is why you fail.

No! Don't destroy it like the GhostBusters remake !

Perhaps its a sign that the "Star Wars" franchise has had its time now.

Go for it! I won't watch it though... not because it's female-centric at all, but because I don't like spin-offs.

There's a lot of Sci-Fi that could be turned into a good Movie series - take the E.C. Tubb Dumarest Saga - very "Male" orientated, but could be tweaked to turn it into something more appealing to today's generation.

SciFi, is very forward thinking, very imaginative, not just space battles, but encompasses all genre of literature. It also, when done properly can give hope... something which a lot of people need nowadays.

In the mid 80s just after 'Return of the Jedi' there was a TV movie that was more fairy tale than sci-fy (it had a rider on a  HORSE - in a galaxy far far away) and there was a Saturday morning cartoon about the Ewoks. And during 1979 there was a pseudo-Thanksgiving special (about the Wookiee 'Life Day') where then-Jefferson Starship appeared and Carrie Fisher sang! It was soooooooo awful that George Lucas himself totally renounced it as junk and he has done his damndest to make sure that it will never be aired again, ever.

It seems interesting!

The best Star Wars movie since Empire? We sure did! Let's make sure someone with talent equal to Rian Johnson is in charge of this spin-off.
