Prince's is one of those rare examples of a well-earned fortune, giving so much back to society by his artistry.
In mid-2020, Comerica sued the IRS in U.S. Tax Court, saying the agency’s calculations of the estate’s value were riddled with errors. A tax trial set for March in St Paul has been canceled because of the settlement.
And then all these vultures descend. Too bad he couldn't hide his wealth in tax havens like almost every major company and many other wealthy individuals. Those listed in the Panama and Pandora Papers remain untouched.

During these liong six years there's been nothing but demo stuff and not very extensive compilations and a few deluxe releases put out. Finaly last year, 'Welcome 2 America', a good unreleased album was released.
He's written over 1000 songs. When will some more albums come out? We want more more more.

Too bad that someone’s life will boil down to how much they are worth to others and the government in death…
As was said earlier, I’d rather see a news release regarding a new album than something that reduces him to numbers in someone else’s bank account.

Close to 40% of which goes to government, to waste.
It’s not rare. What is more rare is when some people can get past their envy sometimes.

Then cite examples of uninherited wealth, done without gross exploitation of others or apprpriated resources, that has enriched societies. There are a few, Prince is a good example.
When people rush to the defense of corporate interests what motivates them?

Was it that he could not get past his envy of the Warner corporation executives?
Corporations and government seem collusive and entwined in their interests . Could you explain why people would envy large corporate profits?

Out of the posthumous releases, check the acoustic demo of Feel For You and Blanche, a superfunky guitar jam on the deluxe Sign O' The Times release, but also playable on Spotify. Both are exceptional.

The good news is that his estate will have to release more, more, more just to pay the taxes. Global war doesn't come cheap.

" PURPLE RAIN" will forever be etched in my memory bank. The music of Prince lives on long after his wealth exhausts itself among the beneficiaries.Money is important but not eternal as is music and the arts.

The opposite is the case. The obvious names like Musk, Bezos, Buffett had success in their ventures - enriching society and in return themselves. In free market capitalism no one is forced to buy anything from anyone else, exchange is voluntary. These people had success because they made many such voluntary exchanges with others to the mutual benefit of those involved. Prince made good fortune by producing a product that people voluntarily wanted to pay for.
I am thankful that there are standouts in not only music like Prince, but in other fields like internet commence, transport and energy innovation and more boring stuff like soft drinks. My life is better thanks to all of them.

You included soft drink execs. No shoutouts for the tobacco company execs and their contributions to society? Looks again like many libertarian generalizations and few examples.

Take Buffett who famously went on TV with his secretary to say that she pays a higher tax rate than him. But you would want business people to be taxed less?
And the great accomplishments of Musk and Bezos, their vast wealth enabling sub-orbital flights for billionaires. A defunded NASA did more 50 years ago and is doing more today.
I'll stand by the example of Prince as an enviable contributor to society beyond the corporations that seek to profit off his legacy.
