It's not a bad investment for Disney, since they only paid around 4 billion to purchase Star Wars. They may get it all back on the first movie alone. The "Rogue I" film comes out next year.

Saw the movie today, and have to say while it was "Star Wars", the lack of star wars action type scenes was lacking and the story line rather predictable. I talked with a couple after the movie and the woman asked...who was so and so, as she had never seen any of the previous movies. I suggested she was 4, 5, 6, and then 1, 2, 3 to get a better idea of the story line.

We can now forget 1,2,3 ever happened. Hooray!

Took my nephew to see this yesterday. I'm not a Star Wars fan but it was watchable enough. The leading actress was a bit wooden but Harrison Ford was good.

"record-setting hyper speed."

That's light speed, lol.

"China, the second biggest movie market in the world.”

With 1.4 billion people, how come it's not the biggest movie market in the world?

same old same old...kind of a snoozer...no interesting ideas to be found...um Light vs. dark and blah blah blah.

I have seen it recently. Well, this movie is nothing but insult to all people who love classic Saga of G. Lucas.

Well, this movie is nothing but insult to all people who love classic Saga of G. Lucas.

I felt the complete opposite - that it was very true to the classic saga, and was excellent! I loved it, can't wait to see it again.

After seeing it again, I felt it was superb. Thanks godness we can now smile politely at the wreckage that were 1, 2 and 3. I was afraid of J. J. Abrahms' treatment of the saga, but I concede he is a master in his field. The battles, creatures and ships are so real. More than once I had the feeling I was "there" watching the battles from the ground. He used CGI with moderation and it gave a touch of "here and now" to the film, like episodes 4, 5 and 6. A good proof of how it worked is that even non-fans are returning for a second time.

@Strangerland" it was very true to the classic saga".

In Classic Saga a scavenger would never win a fight with skilled owner of lightsaber. The whole plot looks out rather primitive and quite predictable since the very beginning.

"The Force Awakens". The force is awakening in said scavenger, and if it's strong enough, then yes, a scavenger would win even in the classic saga.

I loved it.

They said Kylo Ren still had training to do so it's entirely possible he's just been brooding around until opposed by our heroes. It worked wonderfully and I'll see it 1000 times I'm sure. Rey and Finn are great characters, I'm looking forward to 8 and 9!

@Strangerland "The force is awakening"

Oh, yeah. That 'Kylo Ren' reminds a hysterical victim of school bullying. And for what exactly reason he wore a mask? The movie is a parody on Star Wars.

@sf2k "everyone else loves this movie. Try karaoke".

"Everyone" with bad taste, yes. This movie is worse than any karaoke, performed by drank foreigner. Lol.

And for what exactly reason he wore a mask?

Well for one, he's obviously obsessed (or dedicated or whatever) to Darth Vader's memory, so wearing a mask would fit in with that. And weren't you complaining that this moview was an insult to the original trilogy? Do you not think the mask stays faithful to that? And don't forget that there are two more movies to come - some answers that have not been provided yet may still be to come. There could be a very good explanation as to why he wore a mask.

I loved it. Can't wait to see it again.
