My advice to you is to stop watching it. It's a long time to stick with it if you don't think it's funny ; )

So long as people keep watching and it keeps getting ratings, it'll continue.

As they say, there's always a new generation with whom it's fresh.

"The network’s announcement included a boast from Homer that his doughnut addiction helped him outlast David Letterman, Jon Stewart and Dr. McDreamy from “Grey’s Anatomy.”

I can attest to the power of donuts' awesome power, especially Mr Donuts' Angel Creme donuts!

Can you imagine telling the voice actors back in 1984 that they'd be playing the characters for 28 straight years? They would have had justifiable grounds to have you committed to a loony bin. I tip my hat to Matt Groening.

The Simpsons still make me laugh, southpark however has lost its funniness.

It's not funny anymore, and what is worse, anytime I see a new episode, it taints my memory of the old episodes. Anything past the tenth series and I have to turn it off.

"Can you imagine telling the voice actors back in 1984 that they'd be playing the characters for 28 straight years?"

In the shorts and first few seasons of the half-hour show, Homer's voice is different from the majority of the series. The voice began as a loose impression of Walter Matthau, but Castellaneta could not "get enough power behind that voice",[36] and could not sustain his Matthau impression for the nine- to ten-hour-long recording sessions and had to find something easier.[2] During the second and third seasons of the half-hour show, Castellaneta "dropped the voice down"[35] and developed it as more versatile and humorous, allowing Homer a fuller range of emotions."

Thought homer had a different voice actor in the early seasons because of the voice, but apparently I was wrong.

The Simpsons keep going cause our own children have grown to love them too. Just like "Southpark", but that depends if you'd allow them to see Southpark. Especially the real raunchy episodes which make you clutch ur stomach w/ laughter-

I still find them funny and somewhat relevant. They do make fun of current events, but then I still find some of the old Looney Tunes and other classic cartoons much better than the more recent cartoons that are nothing but 22 minute product placement commercials.

I still remember the flap caused when the Republicans tried to point at The Simpsons as an example of what is wrong with America:

On January 27, 1992, then-President George H. W. Bush said, "We are going to keep on trying to strengthen the American family, to make American families a lot more like the Waltons and a lot less like the Simpsons." The writers rushed out a tongue-in-cheek reply in the form of a short segment which aired three days later before a rerun of "Stark Raving Dad" in which Bart replied, "Hey, we're just like the Waltons. We're praying for an end to the Depression, too."

Now former President Bush is in a wheelchair and Bart... is still going strong.

Oh joy, now I can sleep at night. Perhaps this news about a cartoon will cause world peace to break out and all diseases will be cured.

Even my children refused to watch it.They called "The Simpsons" utterly stupid cartoons, created exclusively for US village folks.
