Emmy getting more populist with each year.

I have enjoyed MadMen, but it can't hold up against Downton and GoT. And as much as I love those 2 shows, I have to say that Breaking Bad blows both away.
I was just re-watching a late episode on the train this weekend. I arrived at my stop and was standing in the Seven Eleven with tears streaming down my face, my breath catching. Thinking back, I didn't really think I could make it through the very first episode. Just not my cuppa tea. Barely made it through the late episodes for completely different reasons.
I am looking forward to sinking my teeth into House of Cards, and True Detective. TV really has come a long way of late. There is really no excuse to waste time on tripe. (Speaking of which, have reality shows died yet?)

The Emmy's are a joke now. It's all about popularity and nothing about actual quality.

GoT is fun. I like it. Its a soap, with more sex and violence.
I do, though, have a friend, who doesn't like it very much. He has a funny line:
"I like me sex more graphic, and my violence more consequential."
