Both times I've seen Blue Oyster Cult we get the introduction:
'This next song is about the greatest sci-fi movie monster in the wholw wide world. It's
'GOD-ZILLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAA-AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!'
And the guitarist plays 'Baum! Baum-baum baum-baum! Baum-baum baum-baum! .......'

-1 doesn't need Oscar vindication. It's already had an impact overseas for the people who matter and has made Hollywood rethink their bloated budgets, amateur writing, and awful CGI. A well crafted film with characters and a narrative audiences can connect with and a menacing monster with tons of symbolism.

Good luck.

I must have seen all the Godzilla movies except this one and its predecessor (both on target for me to watch). If it's a Godzilla movie then it's good. I grew up with this monster. He deserves any Oscar they want to give him.

Agreed.
Godzilla Minus One is a master work of taking a legacy property and producing a masterwork at this scale on a budget.
Should be up for Best Picture.
