All of that sounds just like discrimination wrapped in a blanket of fancy, meaningless words.

13.5% of the US population is Black and 26.7% of Grammy nominees since 2012 have been Black. No problem there.

The production people must be union members. Are they going to force Blacks become lighting people and to join the union?

15% of cinematographers are Black. No problem there.

Costume designers are 82% women. Are they going to force Black men to become costume designers?

@Peter Neil.

It's nice to see an organisation trying to do the right thing, but I understand your concerns.

82% of costume designers are women?! That's not an equitable reflection of society.

If they replace some of these women with male costume designers, we may see a rise in the number of costumes with adequate pockets, roomy cushioning for the male undercarriage and LEDs. That is surely a good thing. Especially if the LEDs are also in a diverse range of colours.

Award shows have been done for quite awhile. They are scratching at every post to try and stay relevant.

It's supposed to be about the music. Good music is good music. Doesn't matter if you're black, white, yellow or purple. And I don't know what blacks and gays are complaining about. They usually dominate the Grammys.

These awards shows are so irrelevant, they're just pandering to wokeness now so that someone will watch.

Here’s a good idea. If you don’t like it don’t watch it. Don’t even spend time whining about it every time it comes up. We’ll both be happier for it.

The US music industry isn't short of black talent, so why is this even needed?

Give me a break already..,

This is wonderful news, hopefully American major League sports will follow suit.
