Mostly that, from about 1965 through 1968, they lost, as did everyone, to the Beatles. But yes, the Grammys have been about mediocrity. Staying on the Beatles theme, Ringo has won more Grammys than Lennon or the Beatles! The list of American winners is just appalling.

You could put a fat black woman or some more cutting edge artists on this show (and yeah, I do listen to quite a few non-mainstream singers, rappers, and bands), but none of that will ever get me to watch this god-awful back-patting garbage of a show.

The Grammys has been dominated by mediocrity for decades. Most of the awards are linked to sales, rarely and indicator or quality.
