Cla68 is making a comment on the casting of a human in the role of a Vulcan, parodying the complaints about straight actors playing transsexuals or gay characters, or the likes of a certain white actress playing the role of an Asian character in a film based on a well-known Masamune Shirow comic.

Quinto was probably the best updated of Spock since Nimoy. Wonder why he wasn't cast? I didn't the last 2 were that bad.

@Cla68: Not sure where you're coming from bud, unless it's meant to be a joke?
The main lead of Discovery is a black woman- with a secondary major character being a chinese woman. Quite a few major characters in the show are women, of varying skin color and (as typical in Star Trek) the cast is generally diverse.

Not true. Spock never showed up on "Enterprise" (2001-2005 series) which supposedly took place 100 years before the original Star Trek's "Five-Year Mission."

He is good looking guy. I never heard of him. I hope he will be as good as one of my favorite actor his grandpa Gregory Peck. Good luck to him.

I have to say, Zachary Quinto did a great job in Spock in the first movie. Then he fell victim to bad script writing in the later movies. What was JJ Abrams thinking by retooling an old Star Trek? After that huge disappointment at the theatre, vowed never to trust another Trek movie.

I expect social justice warriors to virtuously complain about the casting of a white actor for a Vulcan character. Cultural appropriation.

Way over his head cla68 ;)
