In an interview, Sully played down the 'hero' word, after his wife looked up the definition in a number of dictionaries. He said that his team were just doing their jobs, but doing them beyond normal expectations.

A very modest man, a great pilot, and an excellent evaluator of a situation.

I actually agree with him. The word hero is used wrongly in the US so much these days.

Good on him for doing his job in an excellent manner and saving so many people though. Very respectable.
