Hatsune Miku costars with BUMP OF CHICKEN in their music video

Hatsune Miku costars with the Japanese popular rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN in their music video. This collaborated song - "ray" - was released under the name of "BUMP OF CHICKEN feat. HATSUNE MIKU".

With Crypton Future Media's advanced technology, called 14 Model (pronounced Ichi-yon Moderu), she was actually projected live in the space behind BUMP OF CHICKEN, performing together with them. She was actually singing a duet of "ray" with them. This is a ground breaking change because in the past, Hatsune Miku would be superimposed through 3D computer graphics into something like a music video.

What a perfect combination - absolutely talentless dorks and a marketing ploy character with no basis in objective reality. This song is as worthless as it gets, unless you're a basement dwelling otaku whose computer is surrounded by plastic Miku figurines. J-poop music.

If you don't like it, don't listen. I admit it's not great, but being a fan of hatsune miku and the technology behind her, I can appreciate the ability to use her like this. Get a brain.

Worst name for a band-ever.

No matter how you slice it, "she" wasn't "actually singing" anything, "live" or otherwise.

Good vocal talent from the lead singer. However, a duet with the Hatsune Miku vocaloid not so good. Hatsune Miku's "vocals" did not mesh well in this video.

"Bump of Chicken?" Weird name.

It's basically auto-tune.

Maybe the song itself isn't the greatest, but this is a very interesting display of technology performing realtime. Give this technology a few years and it'll be around us in a much larger degree and forms.

this is the first time i've heard something from Bump of Chicken the vocals are good but as other poster said, the combi with Miku is not good, still I appreciate the tech involved, so do we have the opening act for the 2020 olympics?

"BUMP OF CHICKEN"

They should do a duet with GRIND OF PIG.

You dont like the name of band, ever got into your brain that there is milions of bans in world, its harder and harder to create original name, and also, did you know that they exist from 1994 ?They got milions of singles and albums sold in Japan ,and also, some of their song are quite good , for instance, check this video , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILz87f2iX7M

They're not bad.

The name, believe it or not, is an attempt to translate "Attack of the Cowards", or "Cowards Strike Back".

Something tells me they used a computer translator....

Considering the Miku vocals were laid down in advance of the recording session, this isn't singing a duet. This is merely a multi-track recording of the band playing and singing along with some previously recorded instruments (Hatsune Miku and the beat track used for synchronization). Probably only the drummer was tuned into the beat track in order to remain synchronized to the Miku playback.

They also seemed to go out of their way to make Miku sound "computer". I've seen other Youtube videos where she sounded much more "normal".
