2019 Rugby World Cup, 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2025 Osaka Expo, 2026 Sapporo Olympics? Man, Japan will have a lot of fun things going on as my kids are growing up.

DaDude beat me to it, except when saying "Japan will have a lot of fun things" he forgot to mention how Japanese feeling of entitlement kicks in. THey also want every other international venue under the sun to bring attention to the insecurity of many, and so they can teach things like "omotenashi", forgetting that if you have to say and explain it, it's not at all selfless.

And besides, Japan and Osaka were given a choice: casinos OR Expo. Can't have the latter if they introduce the former in the same city, as Expo organizers have clearly said. But, as I said, the entitlement factor. They want the world to "please cooperate" and "understand" and make exceptions.
