Hello! Kitty to collaborate with X Japan

Sanrio Corp, maker of the popular character Hello! Kitty, will release “Visual Band Kitty” in collaboration with rock group X Japan, according to the Sankei newspaper.

The paper said that the new Kitty character will be dressed up like X Japan, complete with make-up and costumes. Yoshiki of X Japan reportedly likes Hello! Kitty goods and took them with him during a promotional tour of Asia last September.

Nothing says "Rock 'n' Roll" like a kitten dressed in pink.

What do you expect when you see punks on the street trying their hardest to look tough and rebellious, yet have a gigantic pink kawaii teddy bear hanging from their keitai?

People who brand stuff just trying to get their fingers in another pie. Absolutely pathetic garbage.

Yes, but pink kawaii cats are much tougher and more rebellious....

oh boy. that is a disgrace. and yet people go to watch them. My son knows the rules. Hello Kitty is for girls and now so is X-Japan. At my house there shall be no Hello Kitty or X-Japan. There never has and never shall there be.

That's really sad, bobbafett. Really really sad. And wait, wasn't X's fanbase predominantly female anyway? Well, I can count all the male fans I know on one hand...>_>

Anyway, I really HATE HK, and I'm starting to wonder about Yoshiki's mental stability. I know he's trying REALLY hard to bring it back...but..maybe that's not really a good thing. It's cool he likes HK...but...what is this about?

And Raymasaki, I don't really think any of the members have any say in it anymore. Without hide, Yoshiki probably isn't being challenged on his decisions and is probably doing whatever he can to get some publicity, whether it be selling his talent to a crappy horror movie franchise or having cute dolls made out of him. shrug He's Yoshiki, though and imo, nobody dare challenge him.

Also, X is only credited with being the "original" Jrock band because they brought it to the mainstream. I'm sure a lot of people were there before them. I've never heard anyone say they "invented" the genre.
