Kissinger, Nakasone, Schweisgut to appear on BS Fuji Prime News

BS Fuji Live Prime News, which airs live on Nov 15 and Nov 16 from 8 p.m. until 9:55 p.m., will feature international leaders as guests.

On Nov 15, U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone will be the guests. On Nov 16, EU Ambassador to Japan Hans Dietmar Schweisgut. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for both programs.

With political powers continuously going astray and the deep scar the Great East Japan earthquake left behind, still waiting to be mended, it’s no wonder that the diplomacy of Japan has lost sight of its sense of direction. TPP, European economic crisis, territorial dispute, relocation of Marine Corps Air Station in Futenma -- countless diplomatic issues that could quickly alter the course of the political state are arising incessantly and dealing with them for the time being, without a clear future vision seems to be the only choice at this point.

What kind of message will Kissinger give to Japan at a time like this? He and Nakasone, who sought to heighten Japan’s presence in the world through U.S./Japan relations and participation of summits, taking helm for an extended period of time, will engage in debate and discussion.

On Wednesday, Schweisgut will discuss the current chain of monetary/financial crisis that could extend to and affect Japan’s economy. He will take the lead in responding to the core doubts about risk management and reconstruction of EU.

Maybe they will both talk about all the suffering and misgovernance each brought the world.

Aside from a war crimes tribunal at the Hague. Who would want to interview Kissinger?
