Hiroshi Tachi, Yumiko Shaku to star in NHK period drama

Hiroshi Tachi, 60, and Yumiko Shaku, 32, will star in next year's NHK period drama "Onmitsu Happyakuyacho" (Edo Espionage). The pair and co-star Tsutomu Ikeda, 32, attended a PR event this week to publicize the drama.

"Hiroshi taught me a lot about relationships and about what men think of women my age," Shaku said. Tachi then explained, "Don't say 'I love you'. Don't say you can cook. Don't say you're faithful. Those are the three sentences that drive men crazy."

When asked to comment on the recently announced relationship between Masaki Kanda, 59, and TV personality Rie Hasegawa, 37, Tachi said: "I met them on Dec 14 at a commercial shoot and they seemed really happy. Kanda's still young at heart."

"Onmitsu Happyakuyacho" will be broadcast Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., starting Jan 8.

...Really? Is this a joke?

Is Shaku trying to say that She and Hiroshi are now getting it on??

I think the word "Don't" is a type error possibly.

I wish my wife would say 'I love you' more often.

I know she can cook.

What she does in her own time is her business - sometimes it's just better not to know the truth!!

I partially agree with the ramblings of this 60 year old - but not that much.

Depends on the definition of 'drive men crazy'. Just looking at Shaku could drive more than a few men crazy and not in the bad way.

They should've mentioned that Tachi and Kanda co-starred in a police TV show some decades ago so it's not just a random comment about a complete stranger.

I think he means that if a woman says those things, it means 'Tell me that you love me,' 'Let's get married as I can be a good wife,' and 'Don't stray.'
