Actor Hiroyuki Sanada, 49, sat down for a press conference with Carlton Cuse, 50, executive producer and screenwriter of "Lost," in a Tokyo hotel on Monday to chat about his role as Dogen in the sixth and final season of the popular drama series that started airing in the U.S. earlier this month.
Sanada plays a man named Dogen, a leader of one of "the Others" taking shelter in "the Temple." It is the first time for Sanada to play a role in a non-Japanese drama.
He said he was surprised by the offer, adding he took a bit of a gamble by accepting the role before reading the script. He quipped that he gained a lot more than he "lost."
