Well said. It's a shame how Hollywood has devolved in recent years. There are few really great movies and class actors. Now we have a lot of low class movies and snobbish limousine liberal actors constantly lecturing us about morality while Hollywood itself is rife with sex abuse, power abuse, pedophilia and more.

Hopefully Hollywood will return to its roots of producing real masterpieces with high quality, fine actors that are humble and down to earth.

Sorry, have no idea what you're talking about. It sounds like a lecture. What is "low class"? Could you elaborate?

A beautiful film with fine performances from all round. And a great Nyman soundtrack. At turns, fantastical, shocking and humorous.

Piano was one of them, but as you said, it’s subjective, the same goes for the English Patient, for me, they’re low class, but that’s just my subjective opinion and it’s ok, if you like that kind of thing. My wife loves musicals, I don’t. I usually love horror, she doesn’t but occasionally we find a film that we both can come together and watch.

Minghella was a wonderful film maker, and for me, The English Patient was a sweeping epic. I know it left some people cold but perhaps something is being lost in translation. What does the term "low class" mean in terms of films?

The Joker and the Irishman

Have yet to watch the latter, but as it's a Scorsese, I'll get round to it eventually. As for the former, I liked the ambiguity of it and Phoenix was certainly the least showy Joker out there. Ironically, it felt like a Scorsese movie from back in the day. I still think his greatest work was Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, The King of Comedy & Goodfellas. But even an average Scorsese is worth a look.

My favorite film this year, ironically, was Yorgos Lanthimos' The Favourite. Not as unusual as The Lobster, but pleasantly oddball all the same.

Masterpiece of understatement! Every year - summer, Christmas Day, whatever Hollyweird keeps on pushing on insipid dumbed-down garbage on us - thinking we're stupid sheep and I am violently SICK of it.

The last Cineplex movie I saw was the remade/remodeled/remastered rerelease of 'Yellow Submarine', a wonderful psychedelic trip-out for all ages. Mothers brought their children to this and had them pose for selfies at the neon posters. Now that is culture and good clean fun for all ages.
