So how about we just ditch all the race talk and concentrate on loving and respecting people regardless of the color of their skin?

But you need only read certain posts on this thread to see that there are people with a vested interest in preventing that.

And stop putting black people into historical dramas where there were actually no black people. You wouldn't do it the other way round. It's getting ridiculous.

White history is too white. It must become diverse at all costs.

Unfortunately, the most vociferous champions of ‘diversity’, anti-racism, etc in fact have there own agenda - and it gas nothing to do with the ‘causes’ they espouse.

All democratic countries and societies need to ensure all of the citizens enjoy the same opportunities, rights, protections and benefits.

Opportunities yes. But you can't force equal outcomes.

There has been massive wealth distribution in the past few decades - from the working classes to the rich as wages for most stagnated and those at the top saw massive increases in their income.

Is that theft or does it only work in one direction?

Hollywood needs to make better progress with its diversity including better roles for actors.

Hollywood has already done a lot. You have way more blacks in prominent positions and in leading rules and making more money than almost anyone else, since the late 80s Hollywood has been very good to black people.

Black Lives Matter because too many white lives don't accept that.

So BLM has to force them to, don’t you think that’s racist in itself?

Stop talking about "race" when there's color blindness but not there yet.

For many Blacks, it's not about talking about "race" it's about experiencing racism and discrimination on a daily basis.

Lucky we’re not the only ones being discriminated against, white women are also being discriminated against, Latinos, Muslims, so it’s not just only one group, take your pick.

Because we stop talking about something, racism, rape, child abuse, domestic violence, will not make it go away.

Same applies when people think that dismantling the culture and taking away statues or burning books or changing names will help in that.

We need better actors and we need better scriptwriters and directors who are serious about good quality entertainment. Simple as that.

Diversity doesn't much if the TV shows, films, etc. aren't very entertaining or interesting.

Whether the actors are white, black, green - nearly all TV and movies today are disposable forgettable formulaic stale garbage.

You mean like the meridian income of households with black households at about $42,000 and white ones at $75,000?

The numbers are $40,000 for blacks vs. $68,000 for whites.

Hispanics are only $50,000 and they are 17% of the population compared to blacks being only 13%.

Asians have a higher median household income than any other group in the US.

Hollyweird makes a product. A product that they expect the public to buy. Money talks. Forcing directors, producers, writers to produce some politically correct garbage isn't going to put butts in the seats, or videos in the home (see Ghostbusters (2016) ). Studios have gone bust trying to foist an unlikable product on their public.
