They absolutely should. There will be fertile ground for Handmaid's Tale media as we approach that reality.

Hollywood is full of a bunch of phonies. It was only 10 years ago that the Oscarsowhite movement started. Before that, none of these sudden white liberals had any issue with lack of representation at the Oscars. I didn't see anyone raise a fuss before that.

Exactly. What a sick joke Hollywood is. A cesspit of hypocrisy and corruption.

lol "barbaric assault on American democratic institutions" A bit melodramatic from Hollywood.

Who cares what this wokester has to say. He's from the same out-of-touch bubble as the other multimillionaire actors who play revolutionaries on screen and then sip champagne at elite galas, while lecturing the rest of us about politics and sneering at the majority of the U.S.
Seriously, nobody outside their echo chamber cares what these clowns think. Stick to making box office flops.
Bob Fosse
‘Nobody cares what they think’, not even the several posters above who always make sure to comment on Hollywood topics to make sure you know how much they don’t care about it.

"Speaking to AFP in Berlin, where he heads the jury at the city's Berlinale film festival, the director of "Far from Heaven" and "Carol" said he was shocked by Trump's "barbaric assault on American democratic institutions".
And where was this Einstein for the last four years. Or lawfare and top down smash- and grab were not barbaric?

Smart people in Hollywood and producing for Amazon, Netflix, etc. Why work for rip-off politically biased Hollywood studios when all the money is in streaming?
Audience wants quality, NOT Hollywood Propaganda!
Creators want freedom, discretion and PROFITS!!!
Hollywood another LOSER dying legacy, like Mainstream Media = NOBODY Cares, more irrelevant every day!
Jay
As much as you love Hollywood celebrities Bob, the fact is they keep shoving their unwanted opinions down everyone's throats, and we're just returning the favor by telling them to shut up.
No one cares what out-of-touch wokesters think about politics, but they insist on shrieking anyway, so here we are.
Bob Fosse
You are imagining it.
Tell me some more about how much you don’t care.
HopeSpringsEternal
Competition's good, Amazon & Netflix have FAR more studio production $dollars, many times larger than legacy Hollywood, more so everyday = Audience Choosing Wisely!
No imagination, strictly facts, world also getting in on the game, countries like India, so Hollywood imaginary 'monopoly' = strictly a LIABILITY, Nov 5th & DJT = Proof!

Edit:
"I know it's what it is. It is just lamentable and regrettable that our so-called freedoms allow these deeply twisted people to mass market their so-called creations that show only what their diluted minds and hearts see and want the rest to see."

Your username says otherwise. Accuse other but can't even be honest about yourself.
Tell us some more about how much you do care. LOL!

...Except the top 10 highest-grossing movies of 2024 are a DEI festival. Inside Out 2, Deadpool & Wolverine , Moana 2, Wicked, Dune: Part Two (when you understand what it's about)...
bass4funk
I think it’s safe to say no one really cares what people in Hollywood think

Hollywood stars sharing their views are no worse than TV talents at Faux barking their opinions. It's all attention-seeking people trying to push their agendas. If you don't like it then ignore it. The right has its James Woods and Jon Voights. So what?
Jay
Nice try Dagon, but they're all sequels, adaptations, and franchise flicks that nerds would have watched no matter what. Inside Out 2 is a Pixar follow-up, Deadpool & Wolverine is literally built on geek nostalgia, and Moana 2 is just Disney milking its last successful original IP. Sorry, but nobody's rushing to the theaters for forced virtue-signaling.
MilesTeg
Dune is DEI??!! LOL! You've never read the book have you.
I'veSeenFootage
You're confused: I'm not Dagon.
...That are full of DEI and "awakened" ideas that the far-right promises us absolutely nobody wants to watch. And yet they gross billions. Weird, huh?
I'veSeenFootage
And you obviously haven't understood its subtext about the dangers of colonialism, religious extremism and ecological destruction, have you?

I didn't care very much what Hollywood thought about anything even before Trump's return to the White House.
And now that Trump is back in, I care even less.
Normal Americans took their country back this past November, despite all the "progressive" babbling from Hollywood and elsewhere.
The folks in Tinseltown a right to their opinions, of course, but we also have a right to not care about what they think.
Tokyo Guy
On a pragmatic level, nobody "needs" movies, however entertaining they can be.
However, when the felon kicks out the staff of the Kennedy Center and basically crowns himself its new patron, this stops becoming about art and culture (concepts which are more or less alien to him anyway) and starts becoming about state control. And that's something that does need to be resisted. Next up he'll be signing "executive orders" saying that you can only make films which make him look amazing, or remakes of "Red Dawn" in which Russia wins.
Anyway, Hollywood tends to be left-leaning, which would make him hate it that much more.
MilesTeg
Those subthemes weren't considered as today's DEI in 1967. LOL!
