Rather ignore people telling me what to do.

Toxic masculinity is also an issue in Japan, where virtually every social norm reflects the patriarchal nature of the society, and the struggle for equality is endless https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/27/world/asia/japan-gay-marriage.html?action=click&module=News&pgtype=Homepage

Btw, just a little tip for those who aren't familiar with webpage publishing:

Anything from the question mark (?) onwards can be deleted in the URL (such parts are optional) - that should make for a shorter URL

Tiresome pandering and cynical cashing in on a stupid trend - The entertainment business. Skip.

As long as it is not another comic book adaptation, all female cast remake, reboot, sequel nobody wants 20 years after, live action Disney and so on I am fine. But imo words like "toxic masculinity" or "patriarchy" tell me this movie will try to push a SJW agenda...

This is produced by an indie

Ya guys haven't even heard of the studio

It was released this month by A24, the indie production house behind Oscar-winner "Moonlight," with which "Waves" shares its setting and several themes.

@Toasted Heretic

Some here sound terrified by this show.

Not terrified in the least. Just not interested.

Toxic masculinity does exist, as evidenced by the many men who use their God given masculine strength and aggression in the wrong way to commit acts of violence. And societal efforts to minimize or eradicate this are needed and should be supported.

But it's an issue that's been hijacked by virtue signalling SJW's to paint all men in a bad light, denigrate positive masculinity and make themselves look good. This is what is turning a lot of people off. Not to mention that there is am equal amount of feminine style toxicity out there. But that doesn't get mentioned.

We're all fallible human beings, male and female, who need to unite together, improve our game, and make a better world. Let's ignore the SJW's and do just that.

Brilliant

There's no such thing as toxic masculinity, its masculinity that built the modern world literally everything we take for granted has been invented, developed or built by a man.
