Too bad we have no chance of seeing it here in Japan!

Try downloading from a bit torrent.

The show is good.

Try UnblockUS.com. It can bypass the region restrictions.

I think you will still need to pay for Netflix from a U.S. credit card.

Get a VPN and you can watch anything you like, without having to download or break these new piracy laws. They're about 5 dollars per month for a reliable one with good bandwidth.

HMA would be my recommendation

I recall the original, rather enjoyed it, Not sure whether the US version will be as well done. I find most US stuff dumbed down somewhat these days, hope this is an exception.

This has been hyped. Binge tV is ok but watching series like this actually makes all the eopisodes and storylines blur. week later you remember only a fraction of the details.

It's VERY well done and fairly close to the original plot (although, even the original series strayed from the book in at least one major way, I've read)...defintely not dumbed down. The main difference is that they've fleshed out some of the characters in a way that they the original series didn't.

Season one gets close to the end of the first part of the BBC trilogy.

Ironbeard, I used a VPN for netflix. It works, but the connection speed can be flaky and unstable at times for netflix. The service I cited only spoofs the region testing using the service's DNS. So, you should get the full bandwidth. Netflix now comes through in the highest definition, there is no buffering after the movie starts, and the load time on the menus and movies are normal. Using a VPN can be hit or miss. I couldn't explain to my daughter why she couldn't watch the TV show she wanted because the VPN was acting up.

The DNS service works without missing a single beat.

You can even trick out routers to only send the netflix (or hulu) traffic to the DNS service if you are nervous about routing all your IP traffic through their DNS servers. Using this service would also allow you to bypass the local offerings, e.g., use hulu US instead of Hulu Japan (cheaper and more content), netflix US instead of netflix UK (more content).

VPN tunnelbear $50/year or $5/month, then subscribe to Netflix with US or UK account. Fantastic. Both have free trials so u can test out the speed. I can watch Netflix now on my iDevice or Mac/pc with no lag whatsoever. I stopped downloading completely
