Elvis is here
That man needs an Elvis jump suit!

Memorable performances when I saw him on his 1983 Japan tour in Nakano Sun Plaza and Tsubaki House, a Shinjuku disco. In Nakano Sun Plaza he climbed up the curtains. He had so much energy.

Iggy's great! Saw him live at Club Citta in Kawasaki a long time ago for his Blah Blah Blah tour. But I think it's time for Iggy to put on a shirt.

The last remnants of the rock 'n' roll spirit.

I like Iggy Pop.
Time to put a shirt on, mate. Gravity and age can be cruel.

Being shirtless even at this advanced and decrepit age is the essence of Iggy. Telling him to wear a shirt is like telling Dali to shave his mustache. He has always gone against what people called "good taste." Be grateful he hasn't dropped his trousers.

25-year-old mind in a 75-year-old body. But not looking so bad.

He and Madge need to take a hint and put some clothes on.

I read that his most recent CD would be his last. Glad it isn't. BTW, in a college flier that interviewed Iggy, he stated that he's a huge fan of Frank Sinatra, Julie London, Elvis (of course!) and even the Carpenters (yeeeccchhh!!!). Anyway, I'm curious as to what he has next.
As for the 'shirtless' jive, the last time I saw the Rolling Stones was late May 2015 and Mick Jagger did not take his shirt off at all! In fact, during the show he wore a peacoat and a beret. At least Iggy is still in his youth in every way. glad he never cut his hair either while we're at it. Iggy is still Iggy and that's wonderful.

I've always loved Iggy but he should don a shirt unless he gets in better shape.

He used to drop his pants too. He also used to self mutilate himself on stage. Used to.

I thought I was looking at a cast member of The Walking Dead. Put a shirt on over that corpse.

Aging myself, but I remember him when he was still Iggy Stooge. He always had his fans in Detroit, as well as many there too that didn't get him. So it's sad to see people saying they "love Iggy, but he should wear a shirt." He's not Mick Jagger or Madonna or any of a hundred other standard pop/rock stars. He has always been wild, and never afraid to make people uncomfortable or make himself look ridiculous. He's not trying to be sexy, he's just being himself. At 77 years old, he has earned his place and can do what he wants.
MilesTeg
He was never Iggy Stooge. One of his early bands was the Stooges so it was Iggy '& the Stooges. If you're going to get all self-righteous at least get it right.

'never afraid to make people uncomfortable or make himself look ridiculous.' Punk has a shock factor to it in the first place. It's meant to rile up those milquetoast fuddie-duddies. Or at the very least, make rock'n'roll 'fun again' as the Ramones put it.
' He's not trying to be sexy, he's just being himself'. It's part of his act. It's part of what Iggy's persona IS. While the years are catching up even to the Peter Pan Sir Mick and Madonna is a lip-synching sex robot on stage, Iggy Pop is Iggy Pop and always will be Iggy Pop, period. And at age 77, maybe his shows are of shorter duration anyway.

Put a shirt on? Bah! Put a sock in it for those of you who are so offended. Iggy's being Iggy and I hope he never changes.

Let Iggy Pop be Iggy Pop..

I was there. How about you?

Even with age Mick Jagger still has his cocky swagger, even if he doesn't strut his butt as energetically as he used to. He still can snarl his lyrics well, and the other (surviving) Rolling Stones can still put on a show. If you haven't seen them yet I highly recommend it.
And can all the 'Rolling Stones in wheelchair jokes' too while we're at it. Another note - the Beach Boys are notorious for their famous California harmonies. They've been around for 60 years too. If they still can perform their hits in that manner, what the hey?
Yes it can but that doesn't mean they should stop. Bono of U2 can't play guitar anymore but he still writes and sings the lyrics. U2 is still going strong. And even though Phil Collins can't play drums (or anything else) anymore, I saw him on his sold-out tour in 2018, just singing. He never had an iconic image like Iggy anyway.
