Disappointing to hear his stance on China, despite being born in & starting his career in HK.

Kissing the communists arse didn't help him with this issue. Time to get your wallet out Jackie.

Any dealings in CCP controlled China are a losing bet. The house always wins when corruption runs as deep as it does with the CCP and their control over all within its borders.

His political stance is hypocritical and self serving, he has no excuse as unlike most of the denizens of that benighted country he knows full well what is going on and has enjoyed the freedoms he is helping to deny to billions of others.

This demonstrates why it is very inadvisable to do business in China, there is no respect or legal protection of personal or property rights. You will be screwed one way or another and there will be no comeback.

Look, it's getting more and more difficult for HK stars to go against the HK government and hence, Beijing. You'll lose access to that valuable market across the border. The best you can do is say nothing and stay out of politics - but that's easier said than done.

But yes, the once-darling of the HK showbiz community has really become unpopular in his own home. But he did do a lot of good environmental work.
