And Rundgren and Print didn't. The HOF is a joke.

Saw The Cure live while in high school, way back in 1987. Kissed a pretty girl from Chantilly, Virginia. Insanely good show.

There is little in the world that is less rock n roll than the Rock Hall of Fame. A waste of time and effort.

Def Leppard?

Did they mean the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Shame? They’be obviously hit Rock Bottom. A much more talented band with much greater music that should have been here instead of Def Lameppard is The Rockets from Detroit, they’re probably not even on the “Guest List”.

Janet hasn't anything worth the bother since 1990 except put on a stupid bondage sexpot image + a 'wardrobe malfunction'.

Def Leppard kicked off the glam metal revolution. Seen them live twice, and they are terrific!

Roxy Music practically invented punk/new wave/alternative/indy - I remember them as a teen (they influenced Def Leppard too!) and I saw Bryan Ferry in concert last year. It's way overdue and high time for these guys. Justice, finally!

I'm not sure about the Cure's influence overall but they were big when I was in the military and during my college years, and I like them a lot.

Omitting Kraftwerk is a crime, a shame, a sin against rock'n'roll and the laws of man and God. Those Germans, like Roxy ignited a rock'n'roll revolution. SHAMEFUL DISGRACE to skip this band!

Much as I love the Lep and the likes of Hanoi Rocks (remember them?)... I'd have to give the glam metal kudos to the New York Dolls. Hugely influential on punk, indie, new wave.

Indeed! And if you like that kind of thing, I must recommend Sleaford Mods. Iggy's a big fan of them, first heard them on his 6 Music show a few years back.

They didn’t invent punk, they were more glam/art/progressive rock.

The Cure was extremely influential as an earlies Goth band, The music was a dark the music was melodramatic late post punk, they were a precursor to many of the slow emerging synth bands to industrial bands. Very important musically, you need to check out all of their old materials from the early 80’s. But without the Cure, we wouldn’t have bands like XTC or the Smiths really.
