Animator, Studio Ghibli co-founder Takahata dies at 82

Sad loss of a real giant. Fireflies and Omoide are my two favourite Ghible animations. His animation style was not as flamboyant as Miyazaki's, but very effective.

I am so sorry to hear this. My daughters and I are fans of his work, today there will be many who shall miss him, count us a three.

Considering what a big figure he was in Japan, this article has been almost hidden on JT.
