Nakayama was found seated in a bathtub filled with water, with the front door of her home locked. Foul play is considered unlikely, and police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of her death, the sources said.

Details seem very vague. I hope you have found peace Miporin. Gone too soon.

Was introduced to her by catching clips of Sailorfuku Hangyaku Domei which confirmed my interest in the sukeban genre.

Really wonder how she passed away like that, just sitting in the bathtub...

I heard they are calling it heat shock, where if the body is cold and you get into a steaming hot bath, your blood pressure rises quickly and you are at risk for a brain bleed. Supposedly it happens frequently in the winter!

Heart attack, maybe.

RIP, the cheerful lady!

Rest in Peace! Gone too soon.

She was my first crush when I came to Japan many years back. I will never forget exiting Kansai Airport and the first thing I saw was a billboard of her holding a Kirin Beer. Absolutely beautiful!

Many elderly people die in the hot water in bathtub during winter every year. These causes are cardiac infarction, cerebral infarction, heart attack, something like that. 54 is still young but she seems physically very old.

She was still 16 when I « met » Miho chan. It was in « Waratte Iitomo » with Tamori. She was so pretty and joyful.

it is an absolute horrible news, so young.

Yesterday I (re) watched Love Letter, half of the time crying.

RIP Mihochan.

Rest In Peace..

No point debating how she died when we have not been told. In any case, far too young. RIP

She was a bright, pretty lady and still very popular. I will not speculate on the cause of death, but these are clearly unusual circumstances and would like to know more when it is known.

My late father suffered his first stroke when he went outside early on a cold morning. I am convinced it was what Japanese call "heat shock" and was vexed at the time that the concept, or at least an expression for it like the wasei eigo "heat shock", did not really exist in the UK. Saunas are extremely trendy in Japan now, so if sudden exposure to heat, as opposed to sudden exposure to cold, can cause heat shock, more people should know about it.

You never know.

"Actress, singer Miho Nakayama found dead at Tokyo home."

RIP Miho Nakayama San, and may the ever Gracious Lord grant you eternal peace.

Rest in Peace. Horrible news.

Miho had written on social media the day before her death about her battles with depression. Whether this is connected to her tragic death is for the authorities to determine.

I'll miss her positive energy and smile. People need to better understand that life always has ups and downs, and it's the really tough times that end up being the greatest catalyst for personal growth in most cases.

I was shocked to hear this news. Really liked her cheerfulness. RIP.

The secret is to always remain primarily other focused, as service towards others is the best strategy known to avoid a deep emotional downturn. Hard to ever get too down when others rely upon you, that's the magic!

Same thing happened Sinead O'Connor

Sinead O'Connor died at the age of 56. She died from complications related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, and a lower respiratory tract infection. There are no reports of her having passed away in a bath tub.

RIP Nakayama Miho

Might be safer to have a shower instead of a hot bath.

Just before Christmas and the new years !! Sad indeed.

May she Rest In Peace.

This happens daily during and after a hot bath, I experienced it one, and it is bad. Almost fainted and dropped on the floor in a public bath what rescued me is Cold Water based on staff advice.

" People can faint while taking a hot bath because the hot water causes blood vessels to dilate, which can lead to low blood pressure and fainting:"

Google search result.

It's not from only taking a warm bath, otherwise all bathers would die. it's bathing in combination with something else. And we don't have the information what that was, a generally bad health condition, medication and 'above' if you can guess, or whatever unlikely they say, presence of another person or electric hazard and all such. Statistics on famous stars in entertainment business obviously show a generally much lowered life expectancy, and the catalog of different reasons is not such big than elsewhere, you know.

Not a fan of hot baths, with a few exceptions. Once I came home from work, sick with chills. Took a relatively brief hot bath with some hot lemon Ade and felt much better.

Anyway, this news is terrible.
