Jean Smart, Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton among hosts for 'SNL' season 50

Maybe it's because I am not an American but on the few occasions I have watched a part of a show (could never make myself watch a whole show) I have found it fairly boring and not very funny at all.

You're right,but check out all the fantastic films which came out of SNL,like Wayne's World,Blues Brothers,Coneheads,Tommy Boy etc.

We didn't get it in the U.K, either.

The early incarnations which spawned Blues Brothers etc were great, later on during the period when Eddie Murphy was there had some good skits
