We miss you, Jerry Springer. You showed what was at America's core. After watching, no one could be in any doubt that America could vote in a moron like Trump.

The fightings, quarrellings and conflicts were planned and casting by their own. His show was loudsy, tasteless and ridiculous but very amusing. This is American culture!

He made himself into a household name.

RIP

The politicians and companies that seek to control what each of us may watch are a far greater danger to America and our treasured freedom than any of our guests ever were or could be.”

This of course does nothing to reduce the importance of people just openly criticizing his program for popularizing questionable values for entertaiment (and obvious economic profit). People complaining about the program for misuse of the American freedom are also using it to voice their opinion.

Just a personal anecdote. My brother had a rather successful business in Atlanta. Back in the '90's when I was working for him while in college, we made a house call to one of his clients - Antonio "LA" Reid, the record producer. I remember being in the living room of his house in the Country Club of the South and there, on the living room table, was a VHS tape of Springer's "Too Hot for Televison." Everybody loves good trash. The man's show reached wide and far. God speed.

I remember PJ O’Rourke saying that while many sneered at or even hated his TV show, Jerry Springer himself was as nice a guy as you could meet.

Cake across as pretty sharp guy in interviews.

Before Fox News or Donald Trump & the MAGA crowd, there was Jerry Springer. He was a pioneer of sorts.

Anyone my age who grew up in the states knows that the best thing about staying home “sick” from school was watching Jerry Springer! He made his mark.

Thanks for making American TV edgy!

RIP

That was just a moronic comment! Trump has nothing to do with Springer. What is up with you guys and this rabid obsession with Trump, Springer seemed to be a good guy regardless of how you found his show it just became an iconic show, especially if you had a bad day, watching Springer would always take that stress away.

RIP

Just like war, violence, crime on TV. America got so desensitized to it all, that's entertainment! Tonight thank God it's them instead of you.

Proud to say I never saw this show or know much about the man! But it does seem he didn't really add anything to society, other than letting people revel in their most base elements!

And yes, we've been building the perfect beast. Sharp hateful divisions were made in politics, religion, everything. Loudmouth uncouth cretins like Howard Stern and Rubbish Limberger clogging up the radio, and none of these hosts ever matured beyond age 11. It's been leading up to the rise of TrashTrumpster. All the factors have been building up to that point, the nadir of American culture and history.

n 1974 — in what The Cincinnati Enquirer reported as “an abrupt move that shook Cincinnati’s political community” — Springer resigned. He cited “very personal family considerations,” but what he didn’t mention was a vice probe involving prostitution. In a subsequent admission that could have been the basis for one of his future shows, Springer said he had paid prostitutes with personal checks.

1974 is when Nixon resigned for Watergate. Springer resigned because he paid off hush money to prostitutes. At least he was man enough to fess up and admit to that, wrong as it was. Treasontrump got 34 indictments for that alone in New York State!

Trash is trash, folks - whether it's from the left/right/broken wing. And all trash belongs into a rubbish dumpster.

Good friend of mine appeared on the show back in the day. Said he had a blast. It was all fake and they were told how to act and what to say, of course, It was pure entertainment for the masses.

RIP JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY...!

Springer was half-right, but many of the guests on his show, “regular folks ... who weren’t born with a silver spoon in your (sic) mouth”, are precisely the kind who fall for the gaslighting and vote for morons and for the ilk of those that put his family in the gas chambers. When will we ever learn?

I remember seeing his show on TV for the first time, I couldn’t believe it. At the ice it was soooo OTT and outrageous and spawned many copycats. Well, I did think it was silly really, it was like a freak show most of the time.so many unfaithful people were on it and violence types, I wouldn’t recommend watching old episodes in the presence of children.
